N is for Nicknames
In my family, even outside of our immediate family, everyone has a nickname. I don’t really know why we don’t just call each other by our real names, but we just don’t unless that person is in trouble. Some members of our family have one certain nickname that everyone calls them, others have two or three, like me.
My nickname in my family is Buggy, usually. But what I meant by I have two or three nicknames is that some people call me Bug instead, or Buglet. I know, that last one sounds weird, but I honestly have no control over it. I’ve had this nickname for as long as I can remember, I’m only ever called Mary when I’m in trouble or something serious happened.
My sister’s nickname is Emma Bo, but I always call her Be-Bo, (I literally only call her that to embarrass her). My brother’s is Dave, but I sometimes call him Bub. Then my parents I call Mama and Papa, I’ve called them that for as long as I can remember.
Outside of my immediate family, my aunt and uncle we call Tanta and Baboo. I don’t know where baboo came from, but when I was little I tried to say aunt in french, tante, but instead I would say tanta. Then my grandparents have usual names like grammy and grandpa.
