(Still Quinn's POV)
We all got out of the car, closing the car doors behind us. We were here, we were here, we were here!! It looked like a normal work building, and it dawned on me that I might be being pranked, but who takes a prank as far as America? Literally.
As we were entering the building I caught a glimpse of the sign's reflection in the window: WOHQ... Isn't it 'WAHQ'? Maybe, since it was a reflection and it was backwards, I had read it wrong? It didn't matter, I guess, it was just a sign.
So we walked in and all that stuff yeah I stared around in awe a bit and stuff, not let's cut to the exciting bits:
After the tour - which, by the way, I didn't see a point of, I was going to get lost anyway - we came back to the front room and I finally asked my mum the one question she didn't answer.
"So, what did you say you were gonna 'tell me when we get there'?" She took a deep breath.
"Quinn, it's okay if you feel you don't want to yet, don't feel pressured or anything, everyone is gonna be very understanding if you accept, but..." she kept brushing her blonde hair behind her ear. "I was wondering if, maybe, you would help me with the organisation?" she finally said.
"Uhm... okay?" I said, not sure what she had just asked.
"As in, will you be a co-leader with me?" my eyes widened.
"Umm... how about assistant-in-training?" I suggested. She laughed at the name I had come up with on the spot and I pretended to be offended.
"Okay, 'assistant-in-training' is good too," she laughed. "Follow me," she said and went in the direction of what I thought I remembered were the... restrooms? Of course, my memory was wrong.
"...So, where are we exactly?" I asked, looking around and trying to remember my surroundings.
"We are in the junior training quarters," she informed me, smiling.
"Junior?" how young were the people they taught here? I found out exactly hoe young as soon as I followed her inside one of the rooms. There were a bunch of little 3-5 year olds kicking the air in synchronisation. I AM DYING.
"AWWW!! They're adorable!!" I shrieked. My mother laughed at me as Elias entered the room after me and said,
"You might wanna run," still an edge of laughter to her tone. I gave her a questioning look before looking at all the angry little kids, who looked like they were gonna charge me. Elias winked at them.
"Traitor," I muttered, loud enough for him to hear. He giggled again as the kids charged at me. I braced myself for some serious little kid kung-fu or whatever they were doing, but instead, they started tickling me.
"Ahhhh! okay, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, you're scary!" I said quickly, unable to stop myself from laughing. Quite literally. Elias laughed again and signalled for them to stop. I sat on the floor panting and playfully glaring at Elias, which just made him laugh again, my mother joining him this time.
"Did we only come here for me to be attacked by these ador-- I mean terrifying little kids?" I corrected myself after earning glares from most of them. SO CUTE. My mum laughed.
"No, actually, since I forced you to do Taekwondo and karate when you were little, you're basically qualified as a 'mentor'," she informed me, "So, since you agreed to be my 'assistant-in-training', if you want, you can start mentoring your first junior today," she said happily. I looked at Elias, who gave me a reassuring smile. I couldn't say no, I got to mentor an adorable little kid!
"Really? Yay!" I exclaimed. My mum smiled at my enthusiasm and Elias laughed at how excited I was. They then led me to a separate room which looked a lot like the halls I would have taekwondo in on Thursdays, except that it was smaller.
"What's that?" I asked, nodding toward this handle sticking out of a mirror wall thing.
"That divides up this practise area. It used to be a lot bigger but we had walls built to divide it into quarters, better use of space." She informed me. Must've been pretty big.
"So, what exactly do I do?" I asked, looking at Elias then my mum.
"He'll be here soon," My mum let me know.
"Who--" I was interrupted by a little kid running in and panting while yelling,
"Sorry I'm late!!" in the most adorable little voice ever. He threw his bag to the corner and stood there for a minute, bent over, his hands on his knees as he tried to catch his breath.
When he was breathing evenly again, he looked up at us all in turn, first Elias, then my mum and then his eyes came to rest on me. His beautiful, large, brown eyes looked up at me. He looked so eager to learn, just as I was eager to teach him.
So, not really a cliffhanger here and not really that exciting but c'mon, it's A LITTLE KID!!! LITTLE KIDS ARE ADORABLEE!!! Ok, I'm sorry but hey, I stuck to the schedule!! YAY!
