Scott’s POV

I just yelled at Kirstie. ‘What is wrong with me?’ I asked myself.

I gave her my car keys so she can wait in the car. If she left me here I know the reason and I deserve it too.

I gave the waiter my credit card instead of Mitch’s card. I gave him a twenty dollar tip because one, my attitude fit and second, he was a good waiter.

‘I hope Kirstie is not mad a me anymore.’ I thought as I walked out of the restaurant.

The car was parked in a parking garage just across the street. Me, being stupid as always, walked across the road not really looking where I was going. I heard honking when I stopped in the middle of the road, not knowing where the started. I looked to see headlights from an on coming car. I felt like a deer in the headlights; I froze unable to move even though I wanted to move. The car didn’t seem like it was slowing down and I was hit head on, then I heard screaming and people running to me and yelled over and over to call 911. I start hearing loud ringing in my ears and my head was throbbing soon things started to fade to blackness.

Kirstie’s POV

I’ve been waiting on Scott for 10 minutes and he still hasn’t showed up at the car. Even though I was upset at him, I still care and love him. On my way back to the restaurant I saw about five police cars and at least two ambulances.

I walk up to one of the officers who are trying to keep the crowd back.

“Umm…Excuse me sir. May I ask what happened?” I asked the officer.

“Nothing you need to worry about ma’am” the officer replied.

His nametag said, Sergeant Nathan. Now I guess I feel more comfortable talking to him.

“Sergeant Nathan, I’m worried, my boyfriend hasn’t returned to the car and I am scared something bad hap…”

Something caught my eye or someone. It was a tall, blonde male. He looked familiar, really familiar. He looked a lot like Scott. Wait! It was Scott!

“Scotty?” was all I could muster.

I started to walk over the gurney Scott was on.

“Ma’am, please behind the line.” Sergeant Nathan ordered.

“This is my boyfriend. I will not leave him.” I practically yelled back to the sergeant.

I turned my attention back to Scott. I could barely recognize him. He is littered with cuts and bruises and his clothing has new holes, which was littered with bloodstains.

“Scott.” I took his hand in mine delicately as if he could break with any rough movements. “I love you so much. Please don’t leave me.” I lightly kissed his hand then someone tapped my shoulder.

“Are you family of this man?” the driver of the ambulance asked.

“Yes, I’m his girlfriend.” I replied.

“Let’s get to the hospital and get him checked up.” The guy said calmly.

I nodded. “Can I ride with him? I don’t to leave him alone.”

“Of course. Hop in.”

Once we start moving I called Mitch.

“Hey Princess, how’s the date?” Mitch asked happily over the phone.

I just started sobbing.

“Kirst. What’s going on? Everything okay?” I could tell Mitch was pacing by the tone of his voice.

“Meet me at the hospital and call Kev, Avi, and Esther to come too.”

“What happened? Are you okay? Is Scott okay?” When Mitch mentioned Scott’s name I felt the tears forming and I hung up unable to bare the sound my best friend’s voice sounding shaky.
