Scott’s POV
Kirstie and Mitch were just having a ball on the way home but me on the other hand, I was so tired. I was falling asleep at the wheel, which caused my hands to move the wheel.
“Scott!” Mitch shouted.
I shot my head up and swerved out of the wrong lane and back into our lane before the eighteen-wheeler got to us.
“Do you want me to drive?” Mitch asked from the backseat.
I shook my head. “No, I’m good. I’m sorry. I’m good.”
“Okay, just tell me when you’re too tired to continue driving.”
After about thirty minutes I almost did it again but I caught myself before I fell asleep.
“Mitch, can you drive please.” I asked.
“Sure. Please pull over.”
Kirstie’s POV
Scott almost fell asleep at the wheel again so Mitch took over the driving. Scott went straight to sleep when he put his head on my lap. I began stroking his hair lightly while I hummed a sweet lullaby.
“Mitch, you can just drop us off at my place. You can keep Scott’s car till tomorrow.”
“Okay.”
The rest of the way we rode in silence.
“Kirstie, Scottland, we are home.” Mitch said while shaking us.
Scott didn’t wake up so Mitch and I had to carry him in, which is a lot harder than we thought.
