"Alright, everyone off. We're here", some random guy from the passengers seat yelled, oppening his door before jogging over to the back and opening up the big boot hatch of the truck and letting us all get out.
"Ugh thank God, you know, considering that were in the middle of the desert, you'd think they'd have some sort of walls to keep the sand out ya know" Krista complained, brushing sand off her top as Jo agreed, copying her actions.
"You guys are such babies, its a bit a sand, its not gonna kill yer" I snickered, kicking some sand at them teasingly.
"Easy for you to say Isa. You were probably born from a pile of sand or somthing." Fred said, hopping on one foot while trying to get sand out his shoe. How did her even get sand in his shoe??
"Erm, is that thing where were ment to be staying? It looks like something a dog should be living in." Some girl whoes name I hadn't bothered learning said from somewhere to my left.
My head looked over in her direction. seeing what she was so captured with, only to be taken aback myself. There, not even 50 metres from us all stood a big, modern school. It was made of bricks and had a large fountain in the middle, there were a few trees dotted around and looked very nice but totally out of place. Suddenly, I was overcome by a strong sense of deja vu. Shaking it off, I looked around to see everyone else giving the building slightly wary looks while the drivers of the trucks, which had all arrived now, were stood in a group, smirking. Maybe they could see what I could.
"What are you all talking about? This place looks awesome. We dont have a fountain do we?" I voiced loudly, gaining the attention of everyone, including the supernatural drivers who were now givig me a shocked look and glancing at eachother anxiously.
"Isa, this place is a literal shithole"
I shot Fred a irritated look, not understanding why they couldn't see what was right in front of us, however, my glare was broken by the sound of a door opening then slapping shut, followed by the sound of footfalls.
A girl with blonde, waist length hair and tanned skin could be seen walking towards us all, a smile on her red lips. She all in all looked very smug about something, but I didn't know why.
Walking over to us she began some boring speech about welcoming us all to the school and her being honoured and bla bla bla, none of which I had any interest in and as a result I found myself quickly zoning out and paying no attention.
"... And without further ado, I present the school for supernatural beings!" she exclaimed, waving her hand across the group of students of teachers, me included, my vision blurred for a split second before returning to normal, however all around me I could hear gasps of shock and amazement, informing me that her action had had a different effect on everyone else.
"This is amazing!"
"I know right. This place is so cool! Hey look, there's the fountain that Isa was talking about!"
Everyone seemed to falter and fall silent. "How come Isa could see the school before the enchantment was taken off?" Krista asked no one in particular.
A mumble of agreement rose up in the crowd as people gave me strange looks.
The few supernatural being also turned to me expectantly, hoping I would be answering their question. Yea, not gonna happen buddy.
"Don't ask me, I don't know." I replied, shrugging my shoulders while sinking further into my hood.
The blonde, whose name turned out to be Perry, introduced the five drivers as Paul, Austen, Randy, Claire and Jenny before they all began leading us towards the school.
As we got closer, they called me to the front of the group, all of them giving each other anxious glances. Something was up. As I was taking a step forward, I suddenly felt like I was walking through a sort of thin, silk sheet. It covered my body gently before disappearing and allowing me to continue.
I was broken out of my thoughts by loud shouts of pain and protest. Spinning around, I instantly saw a sight making a loud giggle burst from my lips. About six of my classmates were on the ground while a few others were rubbing their feat, heads and even arms. What on earth?
"Ouch, what the hell? I feel like I just walked into a wall!" Jo screeched.
"You technically did. It's another defense enchantment, stops people that haven't been here, or aren't wanted here, out." Jenny explained, giving me a wide-eyed look.
"Well how come Isa there isn't getting some serious migraine?" Krista shot back, using Fred as a support to get up.
"Oh, am I Not Supposed to be able to do that?" I asked sarcastically.
Everyone turned to look at me once more. Causing the atmosphere to turn deadly. I could tell that whatever was going to be said next, would cause a lot of things to change.
"It means, that somehow, however long ago, she's been here before."
Why do I always have to be right?
