Laughing lightly, I pushed my overexcited friends off me, ignoring all the eyes I could feel drilling holes into my back from the humans and supernaturals alike.
"What? What--why have your hood... what happened?" Jo stammered, making another bell-like giggle burst through my lips.
"I just remembered some stuff and saw things differently I guess," I replied vaguely. They all narrowed their eyes at me, wanting to figure out what I wasn't telling them.
I was about to ask them about something when suddenly an almost silent whistling sound was heard behind me, something was heading toward me. Spinning around, I saw a dagger heading towards us, a smug looking girl stood on the other side of the clearing, obviously the one responsible for the offensive weapon in question. My eyes shot to the dagger, noticing that the way it has been thrown meant that it wouldn't quite hit me, it was going too far to the left by a few inches. Within a split-second of everything happening, I realised that although it wouldn't hit me, it would hit Krista
oh hell no.
Without thinking about the repercussions, my arm snapped out and caught the bade of the dagger, feeling the sharp blade slice my hand slightly as warm liquid began pooling in my hand. shit. They can't see my blood!
I head a chorus of staggered gasps around me as people realised what had happened, a few vampires chasing after the girl who had thrown the dagger while a few other people rushed over to us, Jasper was by my side with Peter, Char Percy and Annabeth first, Char removing the dagger from my grip as Jasper cradled my hand like a wounded bird. I wasn't worried about my hand, it would heal over in a few minutes if it hadn't already. The pain was only there for a split second and even then was more of an uncomfortable itch than actual pain.
"Why the hell is her blood gold?" someone suddenly asked from behind me.
Ah, shit on my chicken nuggets.
"What are you aking about? no it's not." I said, waving my hand, casting a glamour spell and turning my blood red like normal.
I received a lot of sceptical looks but no one else questioned me and before long the celebrations were back in place, people dancing with their respective partners, me and Jasper one of the many couples enjoying the evening much to the horror to the teachers who looked as if they were on the verge of ripping me from his grasp and calling the police.... if only they know.
"Hey, Jay," I whispered, stretching up to be closer to his ear.
"yes darling"
"do you think we would like, explain to all the humans whats going on maybe... I'm not sure I can't deal with all the looks and questions its just too much effort."
"That's all up to you 'lil missy " he replied, seemingly distracted.
I frowned slightly before shrugging. I turned to all my classmates, getting all te=heir attention before explaining what they had all missed, starting with me being a demi-god all the way to finding out I was a goddess, meeting jaspers, losing Jasper which brought everything back to where it was now.
"So basically what you're saying is you're some goddess not human thingy and you have soulmate whos that dude there and you're like uber powerful and stuff?" Krist asked after a few minutes of silence.
I smirked. "pretty much, yeah."
suddenly peter arrived, a smile on his face even though his eyes seemed less than happy to being made to talk to vast numbers of humans.
"c'mon everyone, this is a festivity, not a funeral, free food, you're all meant to be all over that stuff, go dance and have fun, bells here has told ya what yer want to know now let's move on in life."
and with that, the fun finally began, Jasper quickly appeared to lead me to the dance floor as the rest of the night faded away into oblivion as we danced together like we always should have been., two hearts beating as one.
at some point throughout the night, Jasper stopped us from dancing, much to my confusion as he took a hesitant step away from me, before slowly getting down onto one knee.
oh my gods is he...
"Bella, my beautiful mate, I don't even know where to begin. I realised during your absence I should have done this a long time ago, I realised a lot when you were gone, one of those things being the understanding of the phrase 'you don't know what you have until its gone' but when I mean I understood it doesn't necessarily mean I agree. I always knew what I had with you, I just never expected to lose you. You're amazing, kind, beautiful and strong, all things which I will never forget and that is why I am asking you to be mine. Isabella, darlin'; will you marry me?"
By the time Jasper was finished with his speech tears were running down my face like a waterfall. I began nodding my head furiously. "YES YES YES!" I screamed, throwing myself into his arms, feeling a cool object slide onto my finger a second later, I looked down at my hand after a moment and even though blurred, teary vision I instantly fell in love with the elegant ring resting on my finger.
