It had been a a couple weeks since the accident, Kelly and Patience were still in rough shape but were recovering nicely. Kelly was sleeping soundly in her bed for the first time in a while. She didn't hear the soft click of her bedroom window being unlocked. Or the sound of the intruder climbing into her bedroom.
His heart began to race as he looked onto Kelly's sleeping form, watching her chest rise and fall slowly.

He resisted the urge lay down next to her and instead moved on to complete the reason he was there. He moved throughout the apartment quickly and quietly, making sure not to wake the girls. He walked into Patience's room, feeling a tug at his heart as he did so. He looked at the dark magenta walls, the white fluffy carpet, the toys and trinkets neatly placed throughout the room. He looked down at the small figure sleeping before him, he knelt down beside her and gently stroked her long blonde hair.

"I'm sorry." He whispered as he grabbed her hand carefully.

He then pricked her pointer finger. Watching has her face scrunched up in her sleep and then relax again. He was thankful she didn't wake up though he longed to see her blue eyes.
He let the blood drip into a small vile, making sure that he didn't let it drip anywhere else.
Once he had collected what he needed, he placed the lid on the vile and put it in his breast pocket. He then made sure that Patience's finger was no longer bleeding before standing and leaving the room. He contemplated leaving the apartment but something wouldn't let him leave quiet yet. He went out to the living room and glanced at all the pictures of Kelly and Patience. Frowning when he came across a picture of Kelly and Jack. He was overcome with anger, grabbing the framed image he threw it to the ground. The shattered glass wasn't quiet and in a couple moments he could hear someone had woken up. He quickly grabbed a few of the framed pictures he saw and ran to the door. As soon as he opened it an alarm sounded and panic began to set in.
He pulled his hood up and ran out of the apartment and out of the building, being careful to avoid the camera's that might reveal his identity.

Kelly woke up to a cold breeze in her room, she wasn't sure if she had left the window open or not but she knew that it was freezing out and the cold had managed to get into her room. She reluctantly got out of bed and closed the window when she heard something down the hall. She quickly grabbed the bat that she had in her bedroom closest and peeked out of her door, looking into the hallway. She saw a figure dart across the room at the end of the hall and moments later the alarm sounded. She quickly ran down the hall to see her front door open wide and a picture laying on the floor. Panic and adrenaline ran through her veins, she ran back down the hall to find Patience standing in the doorway to her room rubbing her tired eyes.

"Mom what's going on?" Kelly quickly knelt down and hugged her daughter.

"Oh thank God you're okay!" Kelly exclaimed as she held Patience close.

Kelly stood with Patience at her side, talking to the two police officers who had responded to the alarm. Jack had arrived just minutes ago with Kaylee, he was currently talking with Kelly's landlord.

"Thank you officers." Kelly and Jack said as the police officers left, having all the information they needed at the moment.

Kaylee and Patience had been sent to bed a little bit ago, it was very late and Patience had been through enough in Kelly's eyes.
Jack pulled Kelly into a hug, rubbing her back as she rested her head on his shoulder.

"I think you and Patience should move in with me." Jack proposed quietly. Kelly closed her eyes and let out a sigh. She pulled away from him and looked at him tiredly.

"Jack, I couldn't ask that of you."

"Kells common, first I'm asking you and secondly I don't feel comfortable with you and Patience living here anymore. Kelly they took pictures of you and your daughter, whoever they are they gotta thing for you and I'd rather have you with me, where I can keep an eye on you."

"You're sure?" She raised an eyebrow, unsure about all of this.

"I love you Kelly, of course I'm sure." He smiled at her.

"Okay, I guess." She smiled back at him. The two exchanged a passionate kiss.

"Common let's get some sleep." Jack grabbed Kellys hand and led her to her bedroom down the hall.

Kelly, Jack and Adam were at work the next day having lunch together. The topic of the break in had taken over their discussion. Kelly didn't want to talk about it but Jack and Adam didn't want to drop it.

"So how'd the guy get in?" Adam asked.

"The police think he got in through the window." Kelly said with a sigh.

"Like your bedroom window?" Adam questioned again.

"Yep, Kelly's lucky he didn't do anything to her." Jack said angrily

"Don't you lock your window?"

"Yes of course I do! I swear I locked it before I went to bed. Plus that fire escape leads to a bunch of other apartments so it must've been chance." Kelly declared.

"Chance my ass, they took pictures of you and Patience from your house." Adam stated angrily.

"Whatever, the matter has already been settled, I'm moving in with Jack so it won't be a problem anymore." She said defeated.

"You don't sound very thrilled." Jack joked.

"I'm just tired, and I am very thrilled that our lunch break is over." She said angrily.

She stood up from the table and grabbed her sack lunch, tossing it in the garbage as she exited the break room.
She went to the small café area inside the building to get some coffee. She poured herself a cup and turned to leave when she almost ran into Adam.

"Jeez Adam! Are you trying to give me a heart attack?"

"Sorry, Kells. I just saw that you were upset and I wanted to apologize....and to make sure you were okay." He said shoving his hands into the pockets of his janitor uniform.

"I'm fine, it's just been a long couple of weeks." She said with a sigh.

"You remember my dad's cabin, right?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Well I finished fixing it up, maybe what you need is a weekend get away. You, Jack and the girls....come spend the weekend with me." He proposed.

"Oh Adam, I don't know." Kelly started but he stopped her.

"It doesn't have to be this weekend, or anytime soon. Just a weekend before school starts up for the girls. I think you all could use it." He pressed.

"Okay, let me talk to Jack." She caved. Adam smiled at her and turned to leave when Kelly grabbed his arm.
"Hey, thank you." She gave him a quick hug.

"Anytime, Kells."

His shift had just ended when he received the phone call he'd been waiting all day for. He didn't care how illegal what he was doing was, he needed answers and now he would get them.
He answered the phone, smiling at the words he just heard. His suspicions had been correct and soon he would let her know. Soon she would see that he was really the one for her.
He thanked the voice on the other end of the phone and hung up. He got into his truck and sped towards home, he needed to put his plan into motion and the sooner, the better.
