Over the next few days I had taken a small liking to Nick. He was not as hateful as the others. He made sure I ate once he realised I was not eating. He talked to me even if it was about how I escaped and other small topics that would not be uncomfortable to talk about.

It was about noon on the third day since getting on the boat. Nick walked over to me and handed me some water. "So Princess, why is it you do work other could be doing for you?" He asked me sitting down.

"Because people want a leader that will be kind, generous, understanding and hardworking. Why should we get to sit on a throne if all I do is command everyone else to do things?" I looked at him in the eyes, he was looking at me intently. "By doing the work with them it shows that I don't think they are inferior to me."

"So you do it to prove that everyone is equal?" He said a little confused.

"No. Everyone is not equal, it is just the way of the world." I answered before taking a sip of the water," I work to show then I care and to show them that they are important no matter what they do."

"There is lunch!" I turned slightly to see the woman who liked to aggravate me aiming her bow towards the sky. I didn't register what Nick was saying to me as I followed the next arrow she shot. She missed her target and when I realised what it was I jumped up without warning.

"No!" I yelled knocking the bow from her hands as she went to shoot again. It went crashing to the deck and she looked at me angrily.

"Do not touch me princess. Wouldn't want you to break a nail." She growled haughtily at me.

I had decided I didn't like how she had been aggravating me these past few days. I kicked her in the stomach sending her flying back into the wall of the cabin. I punched her in the face multiple times, she covered her face grunting from the impact of my fists. I elbowed her in the stomach distracting her before I quickly picked her up and flipped her over my head, winding her when she landed on the hard deck of the ship.

I pinned her to the deck of the boat, "Don't think I broke a nail." I purred happily in her ear to aggravate her. The rest of the crew surrounded me as I spoke pointing swords and bows at me.

"Get off her." Someone shouted. I stood up and walked over to where I had been sitting with Nick who had not moved during the fight. I whistled and watched the women's target glide gracefully down to me. Rain squawked before landing on my shoulder as gently as he could. I stroked his feathers as I read the note he had tied to his foot.

Charlie is fine. He thanks you for saving him.
All is well.

Some how during the battle I managed to save Charlie. An archer that I had shot was aiming for him when I killed the archer and all the other people near him. I hadn't known what I had done until Charlie said something to me afterwards when I visted him in the room of injured.

"Who is Charlie?" Nick asked sitting beside me.

"My friends partner." I answered vaguely.

"That little bitch!" The woman yelled from near a group of guys. One of the men held her back and started to calm her speaking into her ear. She nodded and grabbed the mans hand. I scoffed quietly and shook my head slightly, she must have been acting the way she was to impress the man.

"Why did you do that?" Nick asked me pulling my attention to him once again. "She's going to hate you now." He told me.

I smiled a little looking back to my colourful bird. "I did it for Rain." I petted him as if mesmerised by his colours Nick did as well slowly moving his hand to not seem threatening to the bird. "And for John." I said as an after thought. I haven't been able to grieve him properly and it was starting to take its toll on me. Rain squeaked hearing Johns name after so long. "Do you miss him?" I asked the bird sweetly. He rubbed his head against my own. "Me too buddy." I said taking that as his answer. "Me too."
