'Shhh, it's okay. It's just me, relax, beautiful.' A melodious male voice whispered in my ear.

My heart hammered in my chest. I quickly turned to face the mysterious boy. 'Devan?! What the he...' Devan laid a finger against my lips. 'Hush, love, don't worry, I'll explain everything.'

Devan's Pov

Finally, I've found her, my soul mate! He immediately knew it when he walked into the cantine. Lately he tried to cut himself off to all those thoughts he heard, but this time he couldn't protect himself for the tingling thoughts of one particular person. Since he had learned how to close his mind, he had never gotten a thought through his mental shield, but these thoughts flowed effortlessly through his mental barrier.

He curiously looked to who they belonged. The tingling thoughts came from a beautiful gold skinned girl with long brown curling hair. Her eyes were glimmering and they had a crystal blue color, but with his unnaturally sharp eyes he could see she was wearing lenses. He couldn't resist to take a look in her mind. In her mind, there was a golden ribbon, wich told him she was descendant of the royal family, the only bloodline which immediately came from the time the Diarah, Kirahn and the humans separated. He was totally surprised. His parents told him the last descendants of the royal family had died a century ago. I have to tell my parents about it. He thought.

Devan was aware the thoughts of the girl turned to him. He also noticed she would look at him in a second, so he quickly turned his face to the ground. Too late to catch her eyes. It seems like a bomb of butterflies exploded in his stomach and he got hot tinglings all over his body. Instantly he knew who she was. His soul mate. He couldn't hide a smile of the thought his brothers would be very jealous. The most of the Kirahn tribe didn't find a mate in her life and his oldest brother had given up the thought of finding his soul mate.

Devan smiled again, when he heard the thoughts of Souhaila. Her thoughts showed him she was thinking of himself. About his appearance and figure and her thoughts only told him he looked nice. Then he saw Souhaila moving.

Souhaila started talking and with his really good ears he heard she excused her. Without thinking, Devan walked behind her and waited for her outside the toilets.

As soon as she came out the toilet, he laid his arm around her waist and pulled her against him. Damn, she felt so good against his skin.

She immediately turned to face him. 'Devan?! What the he...' He laid a finger against her lips. 'Hush, love, don't worry, I'll explain everything.' He said. Too surprised to say something, she just stared at him. Her eyes reflected she was scared.

For a moment, Devan was surprised. It had never happened a person was scared of his own mate. Then he read the answer in her thoughts. She knew very little about her own family. He had to be patient. If he would say too many things she didn't know, she might think he was crazy and could leave him.

I'd never thought I had to keep my mate with me, but this maybe could get harder.

He laid a hand against her cheek. She immediately dodged his hand.

Damn, bad turn. Get yourself under control. He thought sternly to himself.

'Shhhh, you can trust me, please let me explain.' He said.

His heart ached by the look at her being scared of him. He noticed many questions of her were flowing into his mind.

'Please, Souhaila, I know you doesn't know who I am or what I am, but please let me explain. I can't explain here, do you want to come with me after school?' He looked hopefully.

Although she didn't trust him, he could feel she felt at ease with him, but beside that she most of all was scared of him. He had to be careful with her. Maybe she just left him when he scared her too much with strange stories about what they really were. She was already a bit scared of him. He could feel it inside and it made his heart ache. The feels he had for her were indescribable. He laid a hand against her cheek and with the touch of his skin against hers, a hot desire made his way through him. He also knew she felt the same, but she didn't know what happened to her and it only scared her more.

He quickly pulled his hand back and took a step back.

Souhaila

Please, Souhaila, calm down. You don't know this boy, maybe he just did this to play with you. Maybe he isn't serious. No, I have to get answers to my questions. I also want to know more about Devan. Why did he felt so right?

'Devan, I don't know what it is, but I would like to know why you held me like I was your girlfriend.

I saw Devan hesitate.

'Please, I can't tell you here, you have to wait until we are alone. I really need to go. Please, I beg you, come after school with me.

My heart melted by the way he looked at me. However my mind said no, my heart was screaming yes. I finally nodded.

 'Okay, fine.'

He smiled and I saw a big relief in his eyes. 'Fine, come after school to the parking. I'll meet you there. See you soon, baby. ' If I only had hesitated the doubts faded by the look of his sparkling eyes, filled with relief.

Before I could say a word, he leaned with an incredibly speed toward me and kissed my forehead, knowing I would oppose me if I had the chance. The kiss caused a hot feeling inside and even when I had the chance to oppose me, I wouldn't.

I watched Devan walking away. He left me with numerous questions. The only way to get answers to the questions is to go with him.

Fine, I've just got a date with a incredibly handsome guy. Nothing to worry about. I encouraged myself.

When I walked back where I left Claire and Brian, I held in. Suddenly I noticed something. How could Devan kissed me that fast? And could he really read my thoughts?

 What the hell is Devan?

At school I always had to have myself under control to do things at normal human speed. Besides that, my grandma had placed a ban on unnatural things. She wanted me to be a normal person, and so I behaved. When I was young, it used to be quite difficult, but now I got used to it.

Suddenly a light bulb went on in my head. Could Devan be like me?

Before I had time to think about it, Claire yelled at me. 'Hey, Souhaila, do you feel well? You look white.'

'It's okay, I think it's all those new impressions of the day.  I smiled to her and Claire's worried smile disappeared.

I met Brian's concerned eyes. 'Brian, I really feel good. Don't worry.' He smiled but I saw he wasn't convinced.

Thankfully, I was saved by the bell. Yet two hours to go and I'll have a date with Devan. I couldn't stop myself from thinking about him.

Claire knew I was thinking about something, but before she could ask for it, I asked her how it went with Brian. As soon as I started talking about him, she got blushes on her cheeks.

'It was great! He asked me out to a party of his football team!'

'I'm so happy for you!'

I wondered if I had to tell her about my date with Devan, but I decided not to. I'll tell her tomorrow about it, I promised myself.
