11. Run

I woke up by the sound of hastily footsteps. I realised Devan didn't lay next to me anymore. Probably, he was already busy to get things ready for the journey.It was time for her to go, not knowing what the future will be, not sure how it would expire. Could I ever pick up my easy way of life in a normal way, after this all? I really doubted it.

*knock* *knock*, Somebody knocked at my door and then opened the door. 'S, great, you're already awake.'  Silas came into my room and winnked at me. 'I just wanted to tell you you've got an hour to prepare yourself for the journey. After that, we'll go.' I nodded. Wait, what?

'We?' I repeated surprised. 'I thought only Devan and me would make this journey.' Silas grimaced.'No, we've decided it's best when we both are there to protect you,' Silas said with a miniscule slice of hurt in his voice. He obviously had expected that I already knew he would come with me anyways.

I simply nodded. 'Okay, if you please excuse me yet, so that I can change clothes...' I nodded meaningfully to the door of my room. Silas cheeks reddened a bit and without saying a word, he rushed out my room.

When I got downstairs, everybody was already busy packing stuff, arranging the journey and  discussing the route.Guessing, I wouldn't be needed there, I went to the kitchen to make me a strong cup of coffee. The kitchen smelled already delicious from the smell of coffee. Somebody had already guessed I would have the need for strong coffee this hectic morning and I was very grateful to that person.

I poured some coffee in a huge coffecup and leaned against the wall, while watching the busy people. Silas was involved into a heated conversation with Graceabout what the best tactics were to fight against the creatures, we might met on our way and what the best way was to protect me.

I wandered with  my eyes the room in search for Devan. He was sitting on the couch and was studying a rectangular thing of paper, which made me think of a strange kind of a map. According to the dark spots on the map, I guessed the map was either very old, or it was used quite often. With my cup of coffee still in my hand, I walked over to Devan.

'Hey,' I greeted. He quickly looked up and for a short moment our eyes met each other. 'Hey, Sleeping Beauty.'He grinned cheerfully.I sat down next to him on the couch. The map was, like I already had seen from a distance, brittle from the users traces. It surprised me slightly that the map hadn't already fallen apart from the touch of Devan's hands.

Quite surprised, I wondered where the map had come from. I had never seen it before. I looked at the big familiar mahogany clock which was standing in the middle of the room against the wall.. It was six o'clock. Still half an hour to go before we would leave.

Everywhere you looked on the map, there were strange impressive symbols. However I was absolutely sure I hadn't ever seen those symbols, I instinctively understand there meanings and I could easily desipher the entire text.

'Blue wood,' I mumbled when I saw the text near an impressive looking symbol.Devan looked surprised at me.

'Do we have to go to that place?' I asked curiously.

'Can you read this?' Devan asked at the same time.

I nodded. I had suspected that everyone of the Diarah- or Kirahnbloodline was able to read these symbols, but apperently it wasn't the case.  I followed Devan's finger across the map.

'Yes, we have to go to the place with that symbol. Can you tell me what these symbols mean?' Devan asked hopefully.

'Yes, ehmm... ' I followed the strange lines in the symbols with my fingerswhile I told Devan their meanings one by one. 'You, who wants to go through the devision between Lunar and Earth, will have to go through terrible dangers. No one will ever returen, without paying a part of his life...
