'Devan?' My heart bounched in my chest when I saw the boy I secretly liked standing in the doorway. Devan looked into my eyes. Oh my god... 'Devan! What happened to you?' I whispered fearfully.
I couldn't stop looking to his arm which he was holding tightly against his chest. A large blood stain spread across his entire blouse and more blood dripped from his elbow to the ground. I just wanted to step forewards to pull Devan inside, when I heard a terrified scream. At the same time I recognized an other Devan laying on his back fifty yards away. It was his scream and it was him suffering pain. I immediately knew the true Devan was laying terrifiedly on his back and it didn't seem like he was going to survive. He had exactly the same woundings as the still standing Devan in front of me, but he the truth Devan was still being attacked. A large creature came from behind him. I knew he couldn't see him, but I couldn't do anything. I just stood in my grandma's house with a fake Devan in front of me while I was watching the spectacle outside. I saw the ten-feet-tall creature raising up his hand to inflict the death blow. As in slowmotion I saw the arm with immense claws coming down towards Devan's chest. Then I screamed. Loudly, as loud as my vocal chords allowed me to scream. In a funnier moment, I would have sworn my next neighbours would have heard me, who actually lived more than three miles away, but this wasn't the time to be funny.
The moment I screamed, the large creature above Devan hestitated a split second. I wished I could have done more, I wished I hadn't met Devan, I wished I could have saved him, but it only were desperately wishes. My grandma used the split second to come in action. She attacked the Devan in front of me and before I could move, the Devan in front of me didn't exist anymore. My oma jumped on the fake Devan's back and clasped his head. Resolutely, she twisted his head and jurked it off his body. Wow, oma? I thought confused.
The fake body disappeared into silver dust and blew away by the wind. With horror I saw the scene in front of me, but I didn't allow myself to dwell on what happened. I quickly fixed my gaze on the Devan outside and gasped. The terrible creature brought with an incredible speed his claws down towards the head of my Soulmate. I squeezed my eyes shut. I didn't want to see how Devan was dying. Just when the claws would have hit Devan, a hard bang sounded. I squeezed my eyes even harder shut. Rest in peace, Devan, I thought forlorn. A single tear went down my cheek and dropped down to the ground.
'Honey, you could open your eyes,' my grandma spoke softly. Why would she say that? Devan's already dead. I couldn't have done anything to help him. I can't be the princess of the Diarah if I even can't save my own soulmate. At that thought, I knew he wasn't just a soulmate to me. He meant more to me than anybody has ever done for me. I hadn't decided yet if I was able to live with him my whole life, but now it all was too late. I let out a starled sigh. Maybe it's better to face the worse things in the world. Just to be strong, which Devan hoped you'd be. For Devan, I'll continue my life. I'll try to dispel all the harm. I swore and I opened my eyes assuming I would see a horror before my eyes. There was actually nothing. I didn't see any weird creature. I didn't see Devan, laying on the ground. The only thing I saw that reminded of the whole fight were snapped twigs and a huge blood stain on the ground where Devan had laid. Everything was surrounded by a silver sprankling mist. Full of admiration and horror, I stared at the mist.
'Honey,' my oma was trying to attract my attention. 'Listen to me, the Sirakas are gone. The Kirahnfamily has chased them. They all are dead by now.' I slowly turned to face my grandma. 'I meant the Sirakas, the Sirakas are dead,' she added quickly when she saw my watery sad eyes. 'Devan?' I whispered with a soft broken voice. When my oma didn't answer, my eyes filled with tears. I quickly turned to go inside and ran upstairs to my bedroom. I sank down on my bed hiding my head in my pillow. All the tension I had in my body, I let out in my tears. After a while, I heard a knock on my door. I didn't answer. I didn't want a conversation with my grandma, it will probably remind me of Devan. I started to sob harder again, when I thought of his name. Jeez, I was like a baby. I thought sarcastically, but I still couldn't stop crying.
