"THAT'S IT, I AM LEAVING!" You slammed the front door open, tears seeped from your hurting eyes. You had dragged out your suitcase and taken your school bag with you in the process. You had enough.

"B-but Y/n how can you leave *hiccup* us like that" Your mother's drunken state clung onto the door. Her dull eyes didn't even show any affection, they were just dead. Like always.

"All you guys have ever done is treat me poorly, you never cared about me!" Your last sentence seeped with vengeance. Your mother looked like she was almost falling asleep, you despised them with all your heart.

"Just let her go, she'll be back within a week asking for money" You father said from the living room of the house.

"Damm you bastards! You don't even see the reason I am leaving your sorry asses!" You cried out and turned you heel to leave the premises. You were furious, all your years living with your parents in vain. They didn't even care.

Both of your parents had been abusing drugs and alcohol all your life. No, they never abused you or anything but nor did they actually care about you. Everyday you would go by as if everything was perfect, but it wasn't. There was one word you used to explain the situation and that was unstable.

One day they fight so much you couldn't even sleep from all the screaming, another day they could be gone from the house for days leaving you all alone, coming back home with more drugs. Another day they came into your room and told how much they loved you, but of course they weren't even sober. You made a vow that the day you got accepted into a high school you would leave their sorry ass behind, never to see them again.

They never gave you love and affection, never helped you with homework or took an interest in your hobbies or dreams. They just lived their life as if you never existed. It hurt you, but it made you cold and wary. Although, you never stopped helping people with problems. You always had a caring heart and would go far to keep people smiling. The thing was that no one did the same for you. Nobody asked how you were doing when you came to school with bags under your eyes, or the many times you couldn't finish a homework in time because you didn't get any help at home. No...nobody saw those pains.

Applications for high school was a few months away, but you couldn't wait anymore to leave that wicked place. You were walking towards your cousin's apartment, he was the only somewhat decent family member you had. He was a few years older than you, but lived in an apartment with an extra bedroom.
Your uncle, your cousins father dealt with drugs as well so he knew how it felt living like that. You and him had talked about you living with him after you started high school, but you couldn't stand your parents anymore so you went over there now. Of course he was kind enough let you stay with him throughout your high school life, but after that you were on your own.

You went up the stairs and knocked on the door two times. Footsteps made it to the door and soon Haruki came to view. "Y/n? What are you doing here" He asked confused over your sudden presence. He noticed your teary eyes and his eyes softened a bit.

"I can't stand being there anymore" You paused and wiped away your tears "Please Haruki can I stay with you now? I promise I'll work really hard to get into a good high school and once I graduate you won't have to be bothered by me anymore" You pleaded and clutched the straps to your bag tighter.

He sighed and moved to the side so you could enter. "Thanks" you muttered silently while you passed him. He closed the door and walked into the living room with you.

"It's fine for you to stay here, but you have to promise me to work hard on your studies and after that you have to leave" He said sternly. You swiftly nodded, this was the best that you could get. Haruki was the closest person to a family you had even though you knew that your family was broken a long time ago.
