Soulmate AU

You walked in front of your mirror in your room, a frown plastered on your lips as their words rang in your head.

You don't have a soulmate?! Loner for life!

Nobody in this universe will ever love you, that's why!

Maybe it's because she's such a waste of space, the universe didn't bother to give her a soulmate

No soulmate. Everybody who had a soulmate was born with a small black diamond tattoo on their hand, when they found their soulmate the diamond would turn into a specific color and both soulmates will share that color. That's only when to soulmates looked at each other in the eyes. When they first touched their soulmate, a red string will appear and connect them two together.

You had no such diamond. It was quite rare to not posses such a fate, only 5% of the world population was soulless: take note that you were called soul-less, like you didn't posses a soul at all.

You sighed and pulled your sleeves so they covered your hands. Luckily there was no school today and you could walk freely, but you didn't need to have other people looking at you weird. You just wanted to be treated like a normal high school girl.

"Mom, dad I'm off to go shopping for a bit!" You yelled when you passed the living room and started to put on your shoes.

"Need any money sweetheart?" Dad tilted his head out of the living room door.

You turned around to face him "No thanks I have money with me" You smiled sweetly at him.

He nodded with a smile "Alright take care, come back before dinner?" He asked.

"Yeah I'll be back" You opened the front door and waved him off.

You made it to the mall, did some shopping for clothes and such. It was only 1 o'clock, a good while before dinner. Your stomach started to grumble.

"Ah I need some food" You walked over to a food booth and ordered fish and chips.

Satisfied with the food you continued to eat, not looking where you were going. Suddenly you brushed passed a body, continuing to walk before something stopped you abruptly.

Your eyes widen, the fork landed on the ground. Everything went into a slow motion. You swiftly turned around to see another boy looking at you with the same shocked expression. A velvet string connected you two.

"How...?" You managed to breathe out.

People started to notice that two students had found their soulmate, few of them started to clap and cheer.

"Wait! Why is their string not red?" A younger boy asked his mother. She just looked surprised.

You felt your eyes start to swell with tears of happiness. You didn't care if the string was velvet, something connected you and this boy, that's all you needed to know.

You quickly noticed that his hand didn't either have a diamond shape. The universe hadn't given him a soulmate either.

What does this mean?

"H-Hey.." He nervously walked over to you. You felt your cheeks heat up, and he was really cute and handsome looking as well.

"Hi" You smiled. "Let's get out of here" You said as he nodded and followed you outside of the mall premises, the velvet string still in place.

"My name I-is Izuku Midoriya" He slightly blushed , his curls blew a little in the wind you two were encountering.

"My name is Y/n L/n, nice to meet you Midoriya" You showed him a kind smile and shook his hand politely.
