He hoped that he could save the one person he cared most
So he could tell her that he loved her
So he could hold her in his arms and pray that he will never let her goHe hoped that he could save the person he risked his life for
So he could make sure the kid will not make the same mistakes he did
So one day the kid wouldn't look at him like he was a disappointmentHe hoped that he could save the people who misjudged him
So he could prove to them that he was meant for something
So he can say that he did something they wouldn't dare to do
He served his countryHe hoped to save the person who was there for him
So he can prove to himself that he was worth something
But he forgot what he was fighting forHe hoped that he won the battle
He won a battle but not the battle inside his head
He forgot who he was saving
He forgot about himself
He forgot and just like that he was gone from realitySo...
Tell me how the world is such a cruel place to live in...
Yet he still fought for the people he loved and cared....
But what exactly had stained his peaceful eyes so much that it had become so corrupted with pain and made him forget such beautiful thoughts of love?
