recapp: Susan is prego and her and Caleb are staying in Dauntless for a while..
TOBIAS POV
Has he noticed the ring on Tris's finger yet? What will he do when he does? Probably try to kill me. I find it kind of amusing how he hates me for loving Tris. I mean come on, he knows my name and still insists on calling me "number boy". What are we? Four?.. Well I am but thats not what I meant. (AN, that was probably the lamest joke ever sorry)
I look back up at everybody in the conversation and see them all staring at me. "What?" I ask, confused at why they're looking at me. Tris giggles and says " we've been staring at you for like 20 minutes and you haven't noticed, you've barely even moved." oh, thats why. "I kinda zoned out," I mutter. Tris gives me a look as if to say, obviously. I laugh a tiny bit and glance at Susan and Caleb.
After a minute of silence Caleb and Tris begin to talk again. I look at Susan and see something. She's looking at Tris's ring. Susan looks up at me and then Tris and smiles. Atleast she approves. Caleb says something to Tris about leaving and stands up. Susan stands up too and walks over to me. She goes to shake my hand and whispers "congrats,". I mutter a quick thank you and they leave.
Right as they're about to leave Tris picks up her hand and waves. Her left hand. Shit. Caleb lifts his to wave and then his jaw drops. "Beatrice." he says, pure hatred in his voice, "where did you get that ring?". Tris's hand drops.
She mutters a string of curse words as Caleb and Susan walk back into our apartment. "what ring?" sh asks, her voice shaky. "The one on your finger, the one that looks a lot like an engagement ring." Caleb practically screams. "oh, that ring." Tris says quietly. I step in. "Well, Caleb, your sister is engaged, " I say. "To who?" he asks. "The one and only number boy," I say with a smirk.
Tris smacks my stomach lightly, holding in laughter. "Is that so?" Caleb asks. We both nod. "Well, Tobias, if you ever do anything to hurt my sister, I'll make it my personal goak to make your life a living hell," he says. How the hell does he know my name? "oh and by the why, you look like your father, you better not act like him," Caleb spits out, and with that, he leaves.
After sitting in silence for a couple of minutes Tris says "that went well," and laughs. I smile but become worried. What if I do act like my father? As if she can sense my thoughts, Tris walks over to me and kisses me. "You're not like him, Tobias, and you never will be," she says. I smile, even though I'm worried, I know I will never do anything to hurt Tris.
"Let's go to bed," I say, and Tris nods on agreement. It's been a long day. We lie down and she says " I love you Tobias, no matter what,". I smile and say " I love you to Tris. and no matter how hard Caleb or anyone tries, that will never change,".After that I fall asleep happy, thinking of how lucky I am to have a girl like Tris.
