{Laura's POV~}

Soon enough everyone went back to whatever they were doing and all eyes were off me. Feeling relieved I sighed deeply. Until I notice Ross walking up behind Jackson.

Why is he coming over here?

I bit my lip hesitantly, I really need to save myself from facing Ross so I said something I didn't want to.

"Actually Jackson, I will go to the carnival with you tonight." I say smiling at Jackson.

Jackson looks shocked and soon enough he smiles back, "Really! That's awesome! Does 6:30 work for you?" He asks.

I nod, keeping my eye on Ross behind him. You wouldn't be able to tell though. Ross' eyes sunk to the ground and he slowly turned around. He must've heard everything I just said, but that was the plan.

Then why do I feel bad watching the sweet blonde boy walk away from me?

{Ross' POV~}

I guess she moved on. I swore I thought she still had feelings for me, doesn't look like it.

Amber caught up with me again. She has this major crush on me and she makes is so obvious. If I liked her back I wouldn't notice she likes me so much.

"Sorry Ross, but I think she's moved on...maybe you should too?" She says making it sound like a question.

Staying quiet, I shake my head and walk away from her. I don't want another girl, I want Laura.

After school was football practice. And let me tell you, I'm doing terrible.

"C'mon Ross!" Randy shouts at me.

"Yeah dude, what's your problem!" Alexander shouts.

Being the quarterback, it's my job to have perfect accuracy when throwing. I guess I don't have that skill today...

Facing the ground I felt someone approaching me.

"I think your loosing your game man." Randy tells me, giving me a hard pat on the back.

Taking a deep breath I blurt out, "I quit the team."

"What! Why the hell would you ever wanna do that!"

"Are you insane!"

"Who's the new quarterback?"

"This is all about your breakup with Laura isn't it."

Everyone was shouting things at me but I only heard one of them.

'This is all about your breakup with Laura isn't it.' I replay it in my mind. You know what, it probably is.

"I'm sorry." I mutter. Taking off my jersey and throwing it to the ground.

They all give me disappointed looks, like they were trying to make me change my mind.

Turing away so I don't see anyone, I just walk away. Away from the sport I've been in my whole high school career.

Hearing feet slamming against the ground behind I stop. I felt a hand on my back and I look back to see Randy. He has my jersey in his hand. He slowly tries giving it to me.

"I told you that I quit..." I growl at him.

"C'mon, I know you'll regret it later." He pressures me.

"No, I'm sorry."

"Lynch? Number five? You won't miss that?" He asks referring to the words on the back of my jersey. I always loved being number five.

"I'll see you tomorrow." I sigh, "But not on the field. Never on the field." I say walking away for good, leaving him standing there speechless.

All I can do is whisper to myself, "I'm doing this for you, Laura."

A/N: Sorry this is a short chapter but I wanted to update quickly. I will try and updated again today or tomorrow. This chapter was probably kinda boring...but wow Ross quit the team? Laura going on another date with Jackson? What do you think of that? Please comment and vote!
