Chapter Three

Katie's POV:

I got woken up by my phone buzzing on my bedside table, it was 2:14 in the morning. I picked up my phone to see it was Steph.

"Steph? Is everything okay?"

"Katie, I can't anymore."

"Can't what?"

"You know my parents? Yeah well they split up last night, that's why I was really off today. When I was at Luke's working on that project, I couldn't concentrate. I don't even know if I can cope working with him, it's best if you did. I know you'll find it awkward but he's a real nice guy. So I'm going to Mr Taylor tomorrow to see of we can swap."

Me? Working with Luke? Oh wow, this could turn out bad. But I do want to get to know him so it cant be that bad.

"Aw Steph, I'm sorry I'm useless at this time in the morning. Come and find me first thing tomorrow morning, we'll have a chat and then go see Mr Taylor. What you need is some sleep."

"Thankyou Katie, love you, goodnight."

"Goodnight Steph, love you too."

The next morning, I did my usual routine and waited downstairs for Megan to come and pick me up. I started to get a bit peckish so I went to the kitchen and made Nutella on toast. The best thing in man kind.

My phone buzzed and I knew it was Megan outside so I picked up my bag and left. "Not late this time, ay?" I said laughing. She lightly hit me on the arm, "erm excuse me, you overslept yesterday too." We both laughed at that.

We got to school and I quickly got out of the car. "I gotta go find Steph to talk about something, see you in maths, Megan." I shouted from across the parking lot. "Okay, I'll go find Zoe." She shouted back.

I entered the building and my search for Steph began. As I was walking down the hall- not looking where I was going, I bumped into someone. "Woah, where are you going so fast Katie?" I looked up to see Luke standing there, smiling at me. Not going to lie, I melted inside, his smile is so god damn perfect. "I have to go find Steph, have you seen her anywhere?" I asked him curiously. "Yeah I saw her about 5 minutes ago, she said she had to go talk to Mr Taylor about 'swapping partners' for the project." He replied. "Okay, thanks Luke, see you in Chemistry later."

I ran up to the science department to see Steph, talking to Mr Taylor.

I knocked on the door and sir signalled for me to come in. "Ah, Katie, so. Are you okay to make the switch with Steph?" I nodded. Hopefully this will give me a chance to see what Luke is really like.

The bell went for last period, which was Chemistry. Mr Taylor said he'll tell Luke and Calum about the switch this lesson, I hope they take it well.

I walked into the chemistry lab and sat in my usual space, Luke was already there, talking to Calum. "Hey guys." I said, interrupting their conversation. "Hey Katie, how are you?" Luke asked. "I'm good thankyou, how's the science project coming along for you?" I asked. "It's okay, Steph wasn't very up to it but I'm sure she'll be okay soon." Luke replied, hopeful.

Mr Taylor walked in and straight away came over to the boys.

"There's been a slight change, Luke, you'll be working with Katie and Calum, you'll be working with Steph" They both looked shocked.

The bell went for the end of the day and I ran out of the room and went to my locker to put the textbooks back. I saw Luke coming over to me. "Hey Katie, seeing as we're working together now, do you want to come over tonight and try to start it?" He said with that small adorable half smile he does. "Yeah sure." I replied. "I'll wait for you outside." Without any hesitation, I grabbed my coat and headed outside where Luke was waiting for me.

When we got to Luke's house, we went straight to the kitchen. All this boy does is eat, I swear. "Want any?" Luke asked while pulling out a massive bag of cheese balls. "Nah, I'm good. Don't really want cheese ball stains on our work thanks." I laughed.

Luke dragged me into the front room to get started on the project. He slipped in a cd into the stereo. Blasting through the speakers was Sleeping With Sirens album, Feel. He has a good taste in music then, obviously.

I was staring on the project, figuring out what we had to do when suddenly Luke took the pen out of my hands. "Excuse me, what do you think you're doing." I was kinda mad but it was only a pen. "Just having fun while you do the boring project. You gave me nothing to do soooo..." He didn't even finish his sentence and he was up, running around his house. I got up and chased him, I wanted the work back. Honestly that boy.

I finally caught up with him, we were both sat on the stairs, gasping for air. "Luke that was mean." I said looking down at him. "I just wanted to have some fun, no harm in that."

After we'd caught our breath we decided to play fifa. I beat him 3 times, who knew I was that good.

"Katie, I need to test something" he said. "Yeah, what is i-" I couldn't finish my sentence, I felt his lips pressed against mine. It was absolutely perfect. I didn't want it to end. He pulled away, wow, I never knew this would happen. "I'm sorry, I just..." He couldn't think of anything to say.

After a few hours of doing that project, I decided to go home.

This night was perfect. What will happen now, between me and Luke?

Third chapter in one day, oh my god.

This one kinda sucks as it's quite late and all.

Hopefully will be doing more tomorrow,
