chapter eight

Its now sunday morning and rachel is clearing the table after breakfast Sebastian has gone to get dressed he is going fishing with some of the dalton boys today Rachel is expecting her friends for lunch.

As she wipes the table Sebastian walks in dressed holding his fishing rod in his right hand he pours himself a coffee and tops hers up.

"Im not sure what time i will be home today" he said.

" i will make a soup so then ylu can eat it while i make something once your home" she said he nodded as there was a knock on the front door.

Sebastian went to answer it rachel made sure her dress was straight and checked that the table was pristine clean.

Sebastian came walking into the kitchen with thad harwood who smiled at her.

" hello rachel" he said

" hello mr harwood" she said

" call him thad your a smythe your above him" Sebastian said before laughing.

" rachel is it just me or do you think he was actually been serious then" thad said.

" she is my wife thad she wont agree with you" sebastian said as there was nother knock on the door.

Sebastian returned a minute later with nick duval and jeff sterling Nick walked up to her and handed her a bouquet of flowers.

" thank you" she said taking them.

" these are from my mother" jeff said handing her a basket of bread rolls muffins and a loaf.

"Thank you tell her i said thank you" she said.

" that was very kind boys " sebastian said though he was smirking at thad who hadn't brought anything.

" right then shall we go" thad asked.

"Yep"sebasatian said

they all said goodbye to her and left rachel got started on some housework begore getting lunch ready for her friends.

At twelve thirty she went and got changed she wanted to look presentable given almost everytime her friends had seen her recently she had been a sobbing mess.

She set tbe table and placed the sandwiches on a tray she checked the homemade lemonade was perfect.

She heard voices and went to open the door she saw kurt blaine mercedes quinn and noah puckerman who had rescued her from the lake and he was wearing a suit.

" rachie" kurt said hugging her.

" its good to see you" quinn said hugging her.

"Hey" rachel said to noah.

" come on in" she said leading them through to the kitchen.

"Beautiful house" blaine said.

" thank you" rachel said.

"Is he here" kurt asked

"No he has gone fishing" she said

" is he treating you right" noah asked rachel was surprised as although she knew noah she had only met him several times.

" yes he is" she said.

They all sat at the table while she poured them all some of the lemonade and carried over the tray of sandwiches and the quiche she had made.

" i know the situation isnt tbe best but i am so glad you agreed to marry him the thpught of you leaving been alone in canada i couldnt bare" quinn said.

"He saved him" rachel said.

"Guess he cant be to bad after all" kurt said sebastian had in the past been snobby and arrogent given his family was the wealthiest in ohio.

" i havent seen anything bad in him since we got married " rachel said

" how is the tutoring going" blaine asked

"We havent started yet" rachel said

" whats his father like i hve heard awful tales about charles smythe" kurt asked

" his father has been  nothing but nice to me his mother is lovely too they have all treated me well" rachel said

" maybe the tales about him you heard kurt were merely the rantings of jealous folk" quinn said

" maybe" kurt said.

The rest of the lunch was spent with them telling her about what was going on at mckinley thankfully they didnt mention her parents. There was only so many times she could say im ok or see sympathetic looks.

The afternoon she sat back in the living room her friends hD all gone now she put a record on and sat back listening to the music it always calmed her.

Then at just gone four the front doir burst open the noise made her jump.

"Rachel" thad called out she got up off the cpuch switched the record off and as she went to leave the room thad appeared infront of her his expression terrified her.

" its sebastian he fell into the river he hit his head he is at his parents house nickhas gone for the doctor.

Rachel stood there  shaking this cant be happening she thought not again the wster cant take someone else from her.

She ran with thad to the main house and when she went in she saw his mother looking worried when maghie sww her she ran to her and hugged her.

" he is ok the doctor says he will be ok but it will take a while he swollened some of the river water and has an infection he has a concussion too but he should make a full recovery." Maggie said ra hel burst into tears it brought back so mny memories of the accident tha claimed her parents.

" here my dear this will came you " charles said handing her a brandy.

" it must bring it all back for you why dont you stay hereto tonight im sure sebastian will feel better with you here" maggie said rachel nodded as the doctor walked into the room.

"He is awake but exhausted he needs bed rest losts of water to drink and feed him up he needs his strength any concerns just let me know " the doctor said before looking at rachel.

" you must be rachel he is asking for you" the doctor said
