chapter nine

Rachel walked into the bedroom where Sebastian had been taken she wasnt sure how he was going to be when she walked in.

As she entered the room she saw he was laid in bed but had a few pillows propping him up so he was half way to been sat up.

" hey " she said he was awake his eyes followed her as she moved to his bedside.

"Rachel" he said his voice was croaky he looked exhausted.

"Yeah" she said he raised his hand and tuck hold of hers his eyes filled with tears.

"Im so sorry to put you through this this is the ladt thing you need right now" he said

" its ok all that matters is your alright the doctor said your going to be fine" she said.

" i was stood on the river bank and mine and jeff's fishing line got entangled so i tried to untangle it and i slipped next thing i knew nick was wet through kneeling over me he pulled me out." Sebastian said.

" remind me to thank him" she said Sebastian gave her a small smile.

" i wont be going fishing anytime soon" he said.

"Good" she said

" im tired think i will have a sleep you go home and relax" he said still holding her hand.

" i will wait here until your asleep"she said he smiled and closed his eyes.

it wasnt long before he fell asleep she waited for several minutes to see if he woke back up but he didnt so she quietly left the room.

"How is he" maggie asked as soon as the door was closed.

" he is asleep he seemed really tired" rachel said.

" the doctor sid he needed soup i will start some then it willbe ready for when he wakes up" maggie said

" i have made some at home i was waiting for him to arrive home i will go get it" she said as they walked into the living room.

" i will" charles said and got up and left.

" i meant what i said you can stay here and be close to him" maggie said rachel nodded.

That night

Rachel was laid awake in the bedroom across the hall from Sebastian she couldnt sleep she was thinking about her parents. She was thinking about Sebastian and how he could have died in water like her parents she shivered at the thought.

As she laid there unable to sleep she heard Sebastian start to cough so she got up out of bed grabbed her robe and went to hus room. As she walked in he was still coughing she walked to the side of his bed and placed her hand on his back gently tapping him it seemed to work as after a couple morr coughs he stopped.

"Thank you im sorry i woke you" he said

"You dont have to thank me and i was awake anyway" she said as she now stood pouring him a glass of water.

She sat on the edge of his bed while he had a few sips of it before he hnded to her and she placed it on the nightstand.

" you cant sleep" he asked

" no" she admitted

" im sorry" he said

" its not your fault some nights i sleep well other night i hink of my parents and then i cant sleep" she said

"Next time you cant sleep wake me up its boring been awake by yourself" he said

"You have school" she said.

"Doesnt matter" he said it was then that rachel noticed the sweat on his forehead.

"Your burning up" she said standing up there was a bowl of water on the nightstand with a flannel in it she picked up the flannel rung it out folded it and placed it on his forehead.

" thank you " he said as she sat back down on the edge of the bed.

" dont think i will be going to school this week" he said

" no i dont think you will" she said

"You know on of the reasons i cant sleep is i miss my bed" he said.

" me too my bed is the most comfortable bed i have slept in" she said.

"Would you mind if we went home tomorrow then i know it will mean you looking after me but i would prefer to be there than here" he said.

" i dont mind after all you have looked after me" she saidthey looked at each other for a moment.

" i promise to not be that much of a demanding patient" he said with a chuckle.

" dont worry i will just ignore you if you annoy me" she laughed.

" oh thats nice" he said laughing which caused the flannel to move she feached for it and placed it back on his forehead.

" rachel" he said a moment later.

"Yeah"she said.

" will you stay" he asked she was confused.

"Stay" she said

" tonight "he said patting the bed next to him.

"Oh" she said.

" im exhausted im not after anything i just feel better with you here" he said...
