Gena's POV
When I wake up, bright sunlight is flowing from the cracks in between the blinds of Sidney's bedroom. I untangle my fingers from his and smooth my tousled hair back from my face. I feel Sidney's face still nuzzled into the crook of my neck, and the goofy grin is back on my face. I slip my hand back into his and gently stroke his thumb with mine.
The wall clock reads 2:48 and I couldn't give less of a shit. Eventually my breathing falls back in time with his, and it hits me that I could literally do this all day, every day- just lay in bed with Sidney, in his shirt.
After a while Sidney shifts, and I feel him playing with my hair. "You awake?" He whispers ever so quietly. For a moment I'm zoned out, and I almost don't hear him. I nod, and hear him chuckle.
Neither of us says a word after that. We lay in silence, but a better bliss is nonexistent.
It's 3:25. Sidney's arm moves from around me and I hear him making awkward groaning noises. I laugh when I turn around and see him stretching, his expression twisted into the most epic pickle face ever.
"You're adorable." I say, and squeeze my eyes shut when I hear how crackly and tired my voice is.
"Shut up," Sidney laughs. "I'm a dude, I'm not allowed to be adorable."
"But you are," I protest, and graze his jaw with my fingers. Sidney smirks and squeezes my hand.
"Not as adorable as that big zit on your forehead."
I screech and jump back, my hands flying to my head. Sidney laughs hysterically and holds his hand out to me. "I'm kidding, there's no pimple. Your skin is flawless." I roll my eyes and grab his hand.
"You are an ass." I flop back on the pillows. "All-nighters are definitely not my thing." I groan and
Sidney laughs at me again. "What's the matter, G? Can't handle a little sunshine?" I smack his arm.
"No, I can do them, but I feel like shit in the morning if I stay up past when I'm supposed to wake up." I crack a small smile and Sidney stares at me, still hysterical. "I need to get going soon, it's almost four already..."
Sidney's smile disappears. "Gena, stop thinking you're being a hassle on me. Just stay as long as you want, okay?"
I sigh again and press my hands to my face. "Okay... but I can't stay in the same clothes. I need a bunch of stuff at home. I wasn't planning on staying this long."
Sidney sits up next to me and I throw him an apologetic look. "I'm sorry, Sid, it's not me, it's just me." I giggle and he shakes his head, smiling.
"No, it's fine. I get it, I just love your company, you know?" He mumbles and I grab his arm, pulling myself into the same position he's in.
"How's your head?" I turn his cheek towards me and inspect the cut.
"Hurts like a bitch, but that's about it. I'm not dizzy or nauseous anymore like I was at, like, four a.m."
I giggle and pull my hair into a ponytail. "Do you think you can drive okay?"
Sidney pushes his eyebrows together and shakes his head. "Yeah. I'm alright now. Why, do you need a lift or something? I thought you drove here..."
