Gena’s POV

“I guess so.” I smile slightly and gently push his fingers off of my chin so I can wrap my arms around his neck. He gapes at me for a second before recovering and shaking his head. I half expect him to push me off of him and go grab all of my stuff upstairs and force me out of my apartment.

“Gena, are you sure? I mean isn’t it a little forward to you? We’ve only been together for a few days but you’ve known me for fourteen years… I mean, are you sure?” He has to stop because we’re both laughing.

“Yes, I am sure.” I plant my lips onto his before he can protest.

“Are you…”

“If you ask me again if I am positive I will kill you.” I kiss him again and partially mean it.

“I was going to ask you if you’re going to demand paying half the bills, because if you are, I will kill you.”

I crack up and pinch his cheek. “I wasn’t going to, but thanks for the idea.” I tease. “I’ll cover groceries and electric… yeah?” Sidney sighs heavily and pushes me gently.

“Gena…”

“Either that or I’m not moving.” I smirk and he rolls his eyes at me.

“Fine, go pack your shit.”

“Excuse me?” I laugh and raise my eyebrows at him.

“Go get your stuff from upstairs, we’re moving.” Well, someone is predictable.

“Sidney, not today, I don’t have any extra money…”

“What do you need money for? I mean, what. You’ve got clothes, shoes, nothing that can’t fit in all your suitcases, right?”

“Sidney, your car can’t hold all of my stuff.”

“What about your car? Mine is empty, you can fit your stuff in the trunk and the back. Whatever doesn’t fit in my car can go into yours.” He smiles as he finishes and I shake my head, laughing.

“You are so overeager.” I tease and he pushes me off of his lap.

“Just in love.” Sidney grins and pokes my shoulder. “Now go pack.”

Now it’s my turn to roll my eyes at him and I push him against the chair back. “Go wash the damn dishes.” I laugh and kiss his cheek to soften my words.

“Excuse me?” He mocks me and stands up, holding out his hand to help me to my feet.

“I’m just being a dick. But seriously, I can’t take dirty dishes, would you please wash the ones we just used? I know it’s asking a lot but— ”

“Would you hush? It’s just dishes, oh my god.” He shakes his head, laughing at me and nudges me towards the stairs. “Go.”

Three hours and a phone call later, I’ve got all of my stuff packed into boxes and suitcases downstairs. I hop off the stairs and double check to make sure nothing of mine remains. “You ready for this?” Sidney rubs my shoulder gently and I nod.

“It’s not like I’m getting married or anything.”

“Not yet.” He teases. “Is all the calling and everything done, do the rental agencies know you’re leaving and everything?” I nod again and close the bedroom door.
