"Shhh it's ok. It's ok Amy i'm here it was just a dream."Dan hushed into Amy's ear trying to get her to calm down holding her closer. She was shaking and her heart was racing. She pushed her head closer into his chest and he felt her nod her head. She pulled back

"I-im o-ok" She stuttered out and felt dried tears that had stained her face from crying in her sleep.  Amy proceed to take a deep breath and hold a straight face while her breathing continued heavily. Amy's breathing finally became stable.

"I'm good" she said "I'm OK"

"what was it this time? Do you want to talk about it?"Dan asked

"Same thing as always just watching the ones I care about die. You'd think by now I'd be used to it" Amy responded. "i'm going to go search the perimeter again just to try and clear my mind"Amy said standing up.

"Do you want me to come with you?" Dan asked about to stand up as well.

"No it's OK go back to sleep. You need your rest"

"OK but if you need me you know i'm always here for you"

"Thanks" Amy whispered and walked off as Dan laid back down and almost immediately fell back to sleep. Amy walked for what felt like hours to her. She thought it was best to do something useful with her time so every now and then she'd pick up more twigs and branches for the fire. Once her arms were filled she headed back to camp. By the time she got back, the fire was almost completely out and the sun was just about to start a rise. She noticed that the boys were still sleeping. Amy squatted down by the fire and started to tend to it. She was suddenly startled by hand being placed on her shoulder. Thinking it was a walker that had gotten through She grab a twig from the pile and jumped up using her wait to push the figure down. Almost immediately Amy saw that the figure was Mark.

"Ow" he said.

"Oh my God Mark I'm so sorry I didn't mean to-"

"it's fine I should've known better than to sneak up on ninja" Mark joked standing up.

"What are you doing up so early?" Amy whispered realizing that they might wake the other.

"At the old camp I was the lookout this early so I guess it's just a habit.  Why are you up so early?"Mark said mirroring Amy's whisper

"Bad dream" Amy responded

"oh yeah those suck. I used to get these terrible nightmares after my mom died I couldn't sleep for weeks. It was like every time I close my eyes it was just her dying all over again"

"How do you stop it?" Amy asked hoping to finally get rid of her nightmares.

"After I learn to recognize them as nightmares. I realize that my mom was gone and she wasn't coming back.Soon they kind of just stopped. Sometimes they would get so bad that Jack, Tyler,  or Ethan would refuse to let me go back to sleep alone. Knowing that someone was there really helped too."

"Dan and Phil try to help but they don't really get it. How real it can feels sometime. Not to mention It's all pretty gruesome. I don't want to put the burden of that on them."

"Well I get it; If you ever want someone to talk. I'm here."

"Thanks, Mark" Amy said.

"No Problem." Mark answered back.

"You hungry? We still got some food left" Amy asked

"No I'm good. We should probably save it just in case"

"Yeah that sounds good" Amy replied. There was a long silenced between them and Amy took the opportunity to observer Mark. He was pretty muscular and with chestnut brown eyes. Obviously his most noticeable feature was his red hair. It was long on the top, where it was red,  and, like Ethan and Jack, was short and brown at the bottom.
