"We started to get nervous." Dan said meeting them at the gate with the others.

"You know me. Have to double check every spot." Amy said.

"Find anything good?" Mark asked. Amy opened the big pocket of her bag and tossed a water to everyone.

"Remember to savor it." She said as she handed Jack's back to him. She then reached to the bottom of her bag and grabbed the candy bars that lied there.

"This is the best we did on food. I'll go out early tomorrow and see if I can hunt anything down." Amy stated handing the bars off that they broke apart and shared with each other. Phil extended a Piece to Amy which she denied.

"I had some when I found it." Amy lied wanting to give more to the boys.
Soon everyone was sitting around the fire talking.

"So guys" Tyler said addressing Jack, Amy and Ethan "the other day the guys and I were talking about what we did before the apocalypse, what'd you guys do?" Tyler asked.

"Like jobwise?" Amy asked for clarification.

"Yeah. Like Mark was studying to be an engineer, Dan a lawyer, Phil an English teacher and I was trying to be a sports announcer."

"I was in an awesome band that I played drums for. I always hoped that we would get recognized someday and become big." Jack said reflected on how fun it was to be in a band.

"That's so cool. I used to practice the guitar and sing a little but just for myself. I could never get up in front of people to do it." Mark said.

"I just graduated high school and was a manager at a grocery store, but I was trying to make a living making let's plays on YouTube."  Ethan told.

"Oh I remember YouTube I used to post videos on there all the time" Jack said.

"Us too." Dan said and Phil nodded.

"What about you Amy?" Mark asked as everyone turned their attention to her.

"Well, for a while I worked at a restaurant as a waitress during the day in order to pay
my way into the police academy."

"Well I see why you're used to getting no sleep now." Mark said.

"Yeah it was hard but I just wanted to be able to help people and that gave me the strength to keep going. I passed the mental and physical exams and actually got in but my father made me decline, he hurt his back and needed someone to take care of his medical bills. So I stayed at my waitress job." Amy confessed.

"Wow your dad was a real dick." Jack said

"Yeah he was. I just wished I left sooner." Amy said

"Why didn't you? I mean you were legal age to be on your own and it doesn't seem like he did anything for you." Ethan asked.

"Like I said before I was weak. I was too scared to see what would happen if I tried. Though, right before everything started, I almost got out when I got engaged."

"You were engaged?" Ethan shouted mouth dropping open in shock.

"That shocking huh?" Amy asked

"No. It's just that you're so young. How old were you what you got engaged?" He asked

"Yeah I was really young, just turned nineteen I think, but it wasn't a real engagement. Well I mean it was but-" Amy paused for a minute to figure out how to word her story.

"My best friend and boyfriend at the time saw how much I hated life. He was the one good thing I had and he understood me. Then one day he just broke up with me suddenly and I basically lost all hope. I couldn't understand how he could just stop caring about me so fast though he knew how much he meant to me. About a month later he was waiting for me outside my job when I got off. He told me my father threatened him to stay away and he got scared so he did but then he realized he didn't want to live without me and that he came up with a plan to get us away from him. So he got down on one knee and proposed saying that he knew it was soon but we could run away together and I agreed asking for a week to get everything in order. He left for a bachelor party with his friends and by the time the week was over everything had gone to shit and I never saw him again, but I still carry this." Amy said pulling her necklace out of her shirt revealing a dirty ring dangling on it.
