Somehow the news about me had leaked out, and now I was being forced to fight someone I didn't know. What made all of this worse is that the fight wasn't allowed to end until one of us was dead. I couldn't accept that. There had to be another way to solve this problem, but everyone kept telling me there wasn't.

I think the thing that made me feel worse was the fact that I promised myself that no one would die because of me. But now that was all proven a lie. Unless he were able to kill me first, but everyone would be disappointed in me if I were to let that happen.

I thought that maybe I could try and run away, but that wouldn't fix anything. So I would stay and I would fight, because apparently that was my fate. And fate can work in some really weird ways sometimes.

"Are you okay?", Yuuko asked her pink haired friend, noticing she'd been unusually quiet. "I'm fine", Megumi replied shakily, fidgeting with the long cape that was haphazardly draped on her shoulders. Yuuko gave her a concerned look noticing how unnaturally tense she was. The rest of the walk was silent until Yuuko eventually stopped walking. Megumi was in such a trance that it took her a few minutes to realize she was now walking alone. When the realization hit her she quickly turned back around to look at her friend.

"I'm sorry", Yuuko started," I can't go with you any longer". Tears threatened to fall out of Megumi's eyes, but she kept them in and gave a small smile. "I understand", she responded with a slow nod. "We'll be watching everything through the rose! Good luck", Yuuko reassured before walking away. And with that Megumi was alone with just seconds passing till she would stand face to face with the moment she feared most.

She stood on the hill looking down at the scene below. She saw many people in black uniforms standing around together, and she curiously wondered which one was the one she would fight. She felt her heart race anxiously. One of those people down there... I'll have to either kill them... Or be killed by them...

She felt the wind blow around her as she continued watching. She knew that any minute she'd hear one of her friends voices through the rose in her hair. She knew as soon as she heard their voice, she'd have to run down the hill and meet the person she was supposed to kill. "Megumi?", she heard a voice say through the silk flower loosely tied in her hair, " it's me Iona".

At the sound of her friends voice she became tense, fearing the words that would follow. "Can you hear me?", Iona continued on. "Yes", Megumi choked out in response. "Okay good", she said in relief, "listen, when I give you the signal you need to fire the gun and walk down the hill, do you understand?". "Um yes", Megumi replied less shakily this time. "Okay", Iona paused, " Now!". Megumi took a deep breath and fired the gun. She felt the wind blowing her hair along with the cape on her back as she ran quickly down the hill. She grasped onto the gun tightly, careful not to drop it. The closer she got to the group of people, the easier it was to pick out each person individually.

She noticed a guy with blue hair who seemed to be the leader of the group. He stood in the middle of the crowd of four people and spoke calmly; though she couldn't pick out what he was saying. Standing next to him was a guy with dark red hair who had a concerned look on his face. He intently payed attention to what the blue haired guy was saying, but his expression remained concerned. To the left of the blue haired man was a girl with short brown hair and glasses. She looked a few years older than Megumi was, but Megumi doubted she was the one she would be fighting due to the fact that she seemed more interested in recording the events that would soon take place. The last person was standing in front of the other three. He looked around her age, and from a distance seemed oddly familiar. That has to be him. That has to be the person I'll be forced to kill.

Once she had finally made it down the hill she could tell that they were all looking at her. She stared back at the group waiting to see if her assumption about who her opponent was would be correct. The silence continued as if to add a dramatic effect, but in reality it only seemed to make Megumi grow more nervous every second that passed. "Say  something!!", Iona practically screamed as the seconds passed. At the sound of her friends sudden outburst, Megumi almost lost her balance. She regained her posture and cleared her throat, causing the group of strangers to look at her more intently. As if that weren't enough she fired the gun at a near by tree in order to make sure she had their attention.

"I am the killing doll", she spoke out in a voice far more confident then she felt. She grasped the gun tightly and slowly lifted her arm to aim it at the group. "It is my fate to destroy this town", she continued on making up the words as she spoke, " and I'm not letting you stand in my way!". "Good luck Seiji", she heard the blue haired man say before he walked off along with the red haired man and the girl with the camera. As he came closer she let out a shaky gasp realizing who she would be fighting. "If it's your fate to destroy this town, then it's my fate to destroy you", said her childhood friend as he continued to walk closer. She fearfully lowered the gun and attempted attempted to keep the confidence she had faked just seconds ago. But it seemed impossible for her to be confident when the person she was forced to fight was the person she loved most in the world.
