Re°birthed (Megumi × Seiji) ❤

*We play chasing in my dreams*

     "I'm back", she whispered softly. She didn't know if she was sad or if she was happy. She was mainly just confused and done with this fight. She wouldn't say that to anyone though.

      "Megumi!" her friend shouted in a scolding voice. "Um how are you Iona-chan", she variously responded. Iona sighed. "Why did you help him?", the purple haired girl asked. "I have no idea what you mean", Megumi smiled in response walking away. She giggled at her friends anger. She'd explain later anyways.

      She walked back up the stares that had seemed to take forever to get down only this morning. She sighed. She had changed. She hurt the person she'd been longing to see for years. She hadn't meant to... Okay she did kind of... But she didn't want to! She opened the door to the room she shared with her friends, and walked in frantically. She flopped down onto her bed in frustration, ignoring the greetings from her friends.

      She heard footsteps coming closer and she felt the bed lower as her friends sat down next to her. "Are you okay?", Yuuko asked in a gentle voice. "What the heck did you do to the cape?! Do you know how hard I worked on that!?", Hime shouted. "Are you fighting someone you know?", Yuuko asked, the calmness in her voice remaining. Megumi sighed in response to that, trying not to cry. "So it is someone you know....?", Hime questioned, seemingly forgetting about the torn cape. Megumi sat up on the bed and gave her friends a sad smile. "Omigosh...", Hime gasped, startled by the scratch on her friends face. "Are you okay?", Yuuko repeats.

    Megumi touches the scratch on her face, almost forgetting it was there. "I'm fine...", she responds with a smile.  Hime and Yuuko give each other a knowing look and nod. Of course their friend isn't okay. But maybe she isn't ready to talk about it yet. "I'll fix your cape later", Hime says calmly, "get some rest". And with that her two friends left the room, leaving her to think about the events of today.

      She flops back down onto the bed, unable to really do anything else. She's to emotionally exhausted to talk to her friends, and she's a little scared to even think about what happened today. She eyes the dresser in the corner of the room, smiling at the picture laying on top of it. The picture is of happier times in her life. A young girl and a young boy holding onto each other happily. How she wished to go back to that. But she couldn't; because they had both grown up and now one of them would end up dead.

      It would probably be her... She couldn't handle fighting him, and she promised herself she wouldn't kill anyone. He didn't know it was her, so she would be the one to die. Unless she could run away, but she promised Mira-san she'd fight. She didn't even know she was holding in tears until she felt wetness on her cheek. At first she thought it was blood, but when she went to wipe it away there was no red. After the first tear fell, she just allowed them all to fall out, like a rain cloud letting go of the drops of rain it had gathered. She cried until the tears stopped, choking on her own breath as her sobbing continued. And before she knew it, she was sound asleep, too exhausted to do anything else.

"Boo!", she exclaimed, hanging upsidedown from the tree in attempt to scare the boy. "Megumi? What the heck!!?", he exclaimed startled. She giggled and attempted to get herself back up. She of course failed, and went falling to the ground. He held out his arms in attempt to catch her, but she fell so quickly she ended up onto of him. "Sorry!", she exclaimed getting off of him and jumping back to her feet. He sighed in annoyance before smiling at the girls quirkiness. He stood up and smiled at her. "How'd you get up there anyways?", he asked curiously. "I um... I honestly don't know", she confessed with a laugh. "How do you not know?", he questioned, concerned for his friend. "I've been up there for a while", she giggled. "I like it better when you let me find you", he teased, ruffling her hair. "Me too", she answers truthfully. "Why were you okay with being up there?", he asked, his curiosity getting the best of him. "Because", she giggled,"I knew you wouldn't let me get hurt". He blushed at her response and she giggled. "Y-you have to be more careful", he told her, not wanting her to get hurt. "But you'll always be here for me won't you?", she questioned, tilting her head cutely. He blushed again and sighed. He hugged her tightly and brought her face to his, kissing her forehead softly. "Of course I will", he whispered back. She blushed this time, but the smile on her face remained. "Thank you", she whispered hugging him tightly. He didn't respond. He just hugged her back and stayed there with her until she fell asleep.

      She was more grown up. She became better at hiding, and it seemed he didn't care enough to find her again. She missed him. She got to see him again, but he was supposed to kill her. She wasn't as important to him as she originally thought. She noticed him right away, but he couldn't tell it was her. Had she changed that much? Did he not care anymore? Did he find someone better for him?
"Do you still care....?"

"Where are you?"

"I guess I'm still hiding...."

"Can you let me find you?"

"I want to...."

"Then tell me where you are?"

"I'm..."

    She woke up with a startled sigh. She couldn't tell him where she was. Even if it was only a dream. By now he probably would never find her...

    "Megumi?", her older sisters voice called. "Mira-san?", Megumi responded sitting up. "Good job today", she congratulated. "A-arigatou", she stuttered out in response. She didn't want to do a good job. This wasn't at all what she wanted. "Shirayuki is waiting downstairs to fix your cape", Mirage started , "be sure to be down there soon". Megumi nodded as the her sister left the room. She stood up and ripped the flower out of her hair, allowing it to fall freely. She took the ring out of it's hiding spot in the flower and smiled. Giving it a warm smile, she gently placed it down next to the picture frame, before walking out of her room. 'See you soon... Seiji'.......
