I don't know why I agreed to fight the killing doll, but for some reason I believed it was the right thing to do. Maybe it was because of my childhood friend. I remembered all of the times she'd help others, in fact I met her because she helped me. After we became friends, all I ever did was follow her around and watch her help people.
Maybe the reason I'm fighting is because I feel like I need to help others now that she's gone. Because if she were here, that's exactly what she would do.Noroi didn't end up showing up the morning of the fight which hurt me, but I guess it was okay. I wasn't fighting for her anyways. Besides, I was supposed to kill this girl. And I didn't want Noroi to remember me in that way.
______________________________________The wind grew colder as Seiji was lead to the place he would fight the killing doll. He hated to admit it, but he was not looking forward to it. After all, it was kinda scary knowing he might not make it after the fight.
The wind began to pick up as Blue slowly turned to the group. "Why'd we stop walking?", Seiji asked as he looked around the dusted field. "This is place", Blue responded seriously, "now we wait". The group fell into a tense silence as they waited for the girl to appear before them on the hill. They were all afraid of the moments that would follow and it seemed none of them knew how to break the tension. "We promise you won't die", Phantom started thoughtfully, the tension finally breaking, " we'll be standing right over there watching, and we'll go to help if you need it". Blue nodded as if agreeing with Phantom's statement. Seiji nodded back due to not knowing how to respond to that. Sure he knew they were trying to reassure him, but it was still scary knowing that he very easily could die.
The group fell into a silence again after that as they waited. After a few minutes of waiting, a figure came into view on the hill. She looked around Seiji's age and she was wearing a kimono like dress with what seemed to be a cape. She had dark pink hair that was tied up with a white ribbon and a red rose that was clipped onto her messy bun. He continued looking at her. She didn't look intimidating. She actually looked pretty, almost doll like from her place on the hill. Her eyes caught his as he continued his staring. Her eyes that were glazed over with tears. Her eyes that seemed to be filled with fear with regret. Her eyes that seemed oddly familiar in a way that he felt he had stared into her eyes countless times before.
Before he could figure out how or why this girl seemed so familiar to him, a loud noise was heard. The girl was now holding a gun up, her expression wavering between confidence and fear. And following the gunshot this girl, the killing doll, began to run down the hill in a way that almost seemed staged. The white cape draped over her shoulders blew behind her in the wind as she came closer and closer to where the group was standing.
Seiji's heart began to beat quickly in fear of what would happen once she approached them. If she had fired the gun so easily from the hill, there was no doubt she would do the same on the ground and much closer to them. Would she shoot at them? If so, this fight would probably go a lot quicker than he had been expecting. His eyes trailed back up to the girl who was now only a few inches away. Her staged steps became slower by the second, until she eventually stopped. The gun she had shot earlier was still grasped tightly in her small hand as she struggled to regain her posture. The group all looked at her, as if they were expecting her to do something. Seiji could feel her familiar eyes studying the group. Studying him. Maybe he was familiar to her as well?
The atmosphere grew tense as the wind blew gently. And then, with just one sentence, the silence was broken but the tension increased. "I am the killing doll", the girl spoke clearly in a voice far more confident than any of them had been expecting. Even her voice seemed familiar which caused Seiji to become even more fearful of this fight that would soon take place.
What if he found out this girl was someone important to him in his past? He knew the answer to that probably wouldn't be revealed unless he successfully killed her, due to the fact that it looked like her real name would remain unknown to him. "It is my fate to destroy this town", she continued on, a hint of shakiness in her voice that the rest of the group ignored. The rest of the group nodded to Seiji knowingly as they stepped back and motioned for him to speak. "If it's your fate to destroy this town, then it's my fate to destroy you", he spoke out in response, proud of the confidence he forced into his voice. His attention went back onto the killing doll. He swore he heard something of a gasp escape her mouth. That's when he was sure of; he knew this girl from somewhere. His eyes met hers once again as he struggled to figure out how he knew this girl. A familiar warm feeling rushed through him as her eyes met his. He was confused as to what that meant. But what confused him more, was the strange cheerful atmosphere this girl seemed to have.
If this girl was such a threat, than why were her eyes filled with such hope? And why did she look so familiar?
