Another year

"What! Bryson!" Bryson took the mask off. "Hah!" Bryson starts to laugh. "You should have seen the look on your face!" Ashley cringes in a dissatisfied face expression. "What!" She grinds her teeth. Bryson smiles and sits next to her. "Yep. It's me girl." He gets back up on his feet. "Nice prank huh? That's what you get for not believing me." She pushes him away making him fall on the rocky shore. "Ow!" Bryson massaged his elbow and funny bone then he looks at Ashley. "You hit my funny bone!" Ashley didn't seem to notice him speaking for a second and said, "What the fudge Bryson!" Bryson gets up and smiles. "Hey on the plus side, you ended up believing me right?" Ashley got up really fast frustrated. "Uh- I- uh...No I didn't!" "If you did believe me you should have been scared and you were. So technically, you did. Only a little too much. Heh." He gets up, started massaging his head, and messing with his hair. "Ugh!" She pushes him out of her way, fixes the curls in her hair, and walks away. "Oh uh, hey uh- You need a ride back?" Ashley turns around in rage. "Another ride? With you? Psh no way." She stomps her way to the road and bicycle.

"I suppose you have another "prank" or should I say "surprise" waiting to jump scare me." Said Ashley as she kept walking. Bryson is kind of regretting the prank and thinks it has gone way too far for Ashley. "No I don't. I promise. Look I- I'm sorry ok? I didn't mean to scare you that bad." "Hah!" She gives him a sarcastic smile but Bryson looks at her with a face filled with regret. She takes a deep breath and walks over to him with confidence, takes a deep breath and puts one hand on his shoulder. "Fine." She looks up at him and lifts his chin. "I'll go with you but, you have to promise me no more jokes. Ok?" She gives him a reassuring look and Bryson smiles at her. "Yes ma'am!" Ashley follows Bryson to the car and opens the passenger door and sits down. In the mirror, on the car's ceiling she watches as Bryson puts the bike in the back of the car and as he does, it makes a metal clinging sound and the car shakes a little. He comes back and puts the towel in the back seat.

Bryson opens the car door and gives her the pocket knife, sits down in the drivers seat and then starts the car. "He looks up ahead in the road then turns on the radio. "So what's your favorite radio station?" Ashley smiles and looks out the window. "106.1." Bryson noticed her smile by looking at the reflection from the window that she was looking threw. He smiles back at her as she turns to look at him. "106.1? Coming right up." He presses the buttons and turns it all the way up. "You know what I'll go in the back seat so I can use the towel as a pillow cause I need to relax."

She slides the door open and once she goes to the back seat, she slides it back closed. Ashley untied the bag and takes it off the bike. She sets it down in front of her feet, then folds the towel, and lays her head in it. She makes herself confortable in the backseat and takes a breath in and out. Bryson looks in the mirror and says "You know? You don't look so bad in the backseat." Ashley throws him the bathing suit. "Ew, don't throw that at me!" "Oh shut up Bryson." "Heh," He throws the bathing suit and Ashley slaps the bathing suit multiple times on Bryson's arm. "Ow Ow!" Ashley stops slapping him. "That's what you get for scaring me. Ashley pretends to slap him again and he tries to block her with his other arm. "Ok, ok. I was just joking geez."

At Ashley's house

The three girls, Saniya, Bri, and Lily run to Ashley's door and Bri repeatedly rings the doorbell. Ashley's mom opens the door "Hello?" The three girls started shaking and yelling at the exact same time at Ashley's mom. "Woah! Ok." She puts her hand on her forehead looking a bit stressed. "Excuse me?" She puts her hand down and the girls do it again. "Ok one at a time please." The girls looked at each other and Bri started to explain. "O-ok w-Well lets just say that uh we...we invited your daughter to go for a swim with us right?" Ashley's mom crosses her arms and nods her head."U-huh. And?" Bri continued but every time she started to talk and got closer to the part where she is about to talk about the creature she shakes even more, starts to talk fast and louder.

"When we were swimming, bubbles came up and started popping out from behind her and...and This, this thing came out and uh." She starts to rush her words and shake a lot more. "Hold on sweetie." Ashley's mom holds Bri by the shoulders and calms her down. "Calm down tell me more about this...thing you saw." She looks away as if she was pondering about something. "Uh, yeah ok." Bri continued. "It was furry and it came at Ashley it looked like some kind of monster." Ashley's mom started to laugh. "A monster? Are you guys pulling a prank on me?" Bri looked at her and started to describe her previous description. "Yeah it had sharp teeth and, uh, it was furry and big-" Bryson's car beeps and Ashley is the first one to come out of the car. "Oh, hey mom." Ashley smiled as she approached her mother. "Ashley?" Said Bri looking confused. "Wait, but how did... uh, ok ok. Let me rephrase that." She puts her hands on Ashley's shoulders.

"How did you escape?" Bryson comes out with the costume still on and put the mask on. "Hey wait up." He waves over at Ashley. "Let me get your stuff down first." Ashley's mom looks over at Bryson, points at him and says "Is that your monster? Wow such a scary one too." Bri turns around and sees Bryson with the mask. "Hey Bri! Like my costume?" Bryson starts walking closer to Ashley's house. "What!" Lily said surprised to know who the creature was. "That was you! Oh you son of a biscuit!" She gets blocked by someone's hand and she looks up to see who it is. Saniya looks down at Lily and said "Yeah yeah, we had enough action for today. We don't need anymore drama here missy." Lily looked at Bryson and unblocked Saniya's hand. "But he... he freakin'..." Saniya stops her with the other hand. "Yeah he did something unforgivable and dumb that we can all try to forget." Bri looked at him surprised but also gave him a hateful look. "Why did you do that!?!" Ashley looked at Bryson and gave him a nice cool grin.

"Yeah Bryson! Explain." She crosses her arms and waits for Bryson's response. "Well, Ashley didn't believe me when I told her about the werewolf story so, I decided to make it come true." Bryson waves the mask at Bri's face. Ashley shook her head and said "This isn't Disney world." Lily went in front of her and decided to say, "or Halloween." "Well I guess you did give all of us a good scare." Bri said laughing. "Good job." She gave him a thumbs up. "Well he actually is real! I saw him with my own eyes!" Bryson opens his eyes very wide with his thumbs and pointer fingers. "Uh, yeah you might want to tell him you believe him before he finds a different costume and then try to scare you with it." Ashley says reassuring Bri. Bri smiles and looked away then looked right at Bryson. "Yeah ok. I believe you Bryson."She says then crosses her arms. "Yeah, Ashley's right. I probably would do that if you didn't believe me but I'd also do it just for fun."Added Bryson. "Well, see you tomorrow at school Ash!" Bryson said as he waved Ashley a goodbye. Ashley waved back and as he starts the car, she says "You too!" The three girls got on their bikes. "Well we need to get ready for school tomorrow. Bye Ashley!" Said Bri before paddling away with the other girls.

"Bye Ashley!" Yelled out Lily and Saniya as they paddled away ahead of Bri. "Well got to go study mom." Ashley's mom smiles and hugs Ashley. "Have a good day tomorrow ok?" Ashley kissed her mom on the forehead. "Yeah mama I will. Well, see you later." She goes back in the kitchen makes her green tea gets a math book this time and starts to read. She looks out the window and sees her faded away, looking reflection. "Tomorrow is a school day for me... I better make the best of it."
