Finding the light

Ashley hugged him back. "Oh, Codey." She laughed, still a bit sad. "It's joy." He looks up at her. "I haven't felt like this since I've been with her." Ashley is puzzled again. "Her?" Codey lifts his chin and looks at Ashley. "My mother Ashley. My wonderful beautiful mother." Ashley has some weird flashback, it's dark windy and she sees a man walking away from her and her mother and in a blink it's gone. In the corner of her eye, she sees a Chromatin flying by the trees and it giggled. It was Chromy. She waves goodbye and disappears. Ashley has flashbacks when he'd talk bad about his mother but maybe it was because he was scared. Scared to grow up without his mother and felt lonelier than ever. He felt not loved, not cared for, being abandoned at such a young age, it must have been hard. Especially when Ashley remembers her mom it was hard for her at 18 and yet Codey was way younger. No wonder he acted like he didn't like her. He didn't want to show he still loved her, cared for her and would never abandon her. "Oh I packed your lunch in here Codey." Jacob says. They all stand back up. "Well I got to wash up my make up since I'm smearing a bit by wiping away my tears." Codey nods. "I have to clean myself up cause I'm a mess." He goes to the boy's locker room and Jacob follows from behind. Codey combs his hair from his inside pocket of his suit. Jacob lightly pulls on it. "I have a question." Codey smiles and wipes his tears. "And I have an answer." Jacob looks in the mirror and fixes his hair and straightens his shirt. "Do you like her?" Codey chuckled. "Yes I do." Jacob shakes his head. "Not like that. Do you like her as in... more than a friend?" "You can be more than a friend?" Jacob laughs. "Like if you get married and have kids and be a family. I know this cause of my mom's soap operas." Jacob turns and looks at Codey in the mirror. "How come you don't know much about human feelings?" Codey shrugs. "I'm the last of my kind besides my brother. We are only 25% wolf, 50% werewolf and... 25% human. I can't control myself when I am werewolf, I barely have human emotions which is why I can't think properly when I am werewolf. If I could think more human, I will be able to do what I please and control it very easily. I need someone to show me their human ways." Jacob nods. "I see. You can come by anytime and watch soap operas with my mom. She says they get you very emotional." Codey laughs at the fact he watches some soap operas with his mother.

"Yeah?" He turns. "I'll think about it kid." Codey makes his way to the exit and a woman stops in front of him. "Have you seen a boy this tall and-" codey inturrputed her. "Has golden hair and blue eyes named Jacob? Yes he's in the locker room. You have a very nice and well mannered kid." The lady smiled and said, "Thank you." He bows his head down. Then walks past her. He can hear the woman calling Jacob and knows that it's his mother. "Jacob come on time to go home." Jacob comes rushing out. "Coming mom." He hugs his mother and he points at Codey. "That's my friend Codey he saved me! He's also a werewolf!" His mother looked at Codey and raised an eyebrow. Ashley came in to help out in the situation. "Oh him? They were just playing around." Jacob's mother laughs. "Oh that's wonderful maybe we can meet again sometime. What's your name fine gentlemen?" "My name's Codey ma'am." She shakes his hand and turns to Ashley. "And yours?" She shakes Ashley's hand. "My name is Ashley Castillo nice to meet cha." Jacob's mother backs off and looks at both of them. "My name's Coraline. Coraline Fonseca." Ashley smiles. "Ooh fancy. So much pazaz there!" She laughs along with the mother. "Well it was nice to meet you to and if you guys would like to see my little Jacob, we come here every Tuesday to Friday. Bye" Codey and Ashley speak at the same time. "Bye." Codey looks at Ashley. "You wanna go back to the cottage?" Ashley smiles. "Sure let's go." They walk to the cottage. As soon as Codey steps in Ashley stops right outside the door. "Uh, Codey I need to go somewhere real quick." Codey turned around quickly as he heard the words 'go somewhere.' "Y-you're leaving me?" Ashley stands still. "N-no I just need to talk to the Chromatins. It will just take a while." Codey walks towards her. "How long is a while exactly?" Ashley looks to the side and sees a Chromatin cocking its head to the side at the window. "Yeah, see? She's waiting for me?" Cidey turns around and the Chromatin disappears. "I didn't see her but, you better come back cause like I said, I will hunt you down and find you. "Yeah I know so why try leaving?" Codey backs off. "Ok then." He walks to his room and closes the door. Ashley walks outside. "Chroma? Where are you?" The chromatin's giggle echoes throught the trees. "Ding dong." Ashley looks around and the Chromatin appears at a nearby tree. "You can't keep me waiting Ashley." She turns and sees Chroma. "Chroma, I need to ask you something. She flies nearby her face. "I need to know what that was." The Chromatins eyes finally appear and glow white and then fade away and the eyes camouflage back to the Chromatin making it look like she doesn't have eyes. "What's in it for me?" Ashley takes out a necklace from her pocket. "My mother gave it to me. It was the only thing I had left of my father." "Part of it is missing but I think it will do." Ashley hands it to the Chromatin. "This is exactly what I needed. Close your eyes and hold it for me." Ashley closes her eyes and holds onto the necklace. "Ack! What was that?" The Chromatin looks closely at the necklace. It's missing something. I'll get it but you have to know it will take a couple of days because of it's very powerful source and because of that, it will be quite challenging for me to handle. I'm up to the task though. I may say I think I am ready for the adventure. I'll try to get back as soon as possible. So, pretty much asap. I'll need you to be patient and in the mean time, talk to Codey and try to get him to tell you the secret. Hurry before he forgets." She flies in circles. "What! But wait!" The Chromatin disappears into soft pink petals. "No." She whispered as a petal landed on her palm. She lightly squeezes it. It showed the chromatin's face it glowed and faded and the petal was a solid pink. Ashley walked back inside the cottage. "Codey I need to-" Codey interrupts her and he puts his finger on her lips. "Wait, before you say anything I wanna show you something. Come here." Ashley is curious but wants him to tell her the secret. "Wait but-" he takes her hand and shows her a room nice and neat.
