Not what it seems

Ashley sits up on her bed. She closes her eyes and tries again. The necklace starts to slowly become invisible and her hands are now see through and glowing orange. She takes a deep breath and tries hard to remember. It takes her into a very deep part of the woods. and then she sees the door... Codey's door. "Codey's door? Why would-" she opens her eyes. The Chromatin still whispers something and starts to fade in and out slowly and Ashley sees Chroma's bright white eye's glow as the Chromatin gasped. "Why did you do that?" The Chromatin looks at the necklace half of it missing. "What happened?!" Ashley looks at it. "I used part of the necklace that was from your dad to turn it into memories but when you opened your eyes you cut off the connection between the memories and your dad. Now that you have opened your eyes, you need to try to remember what you just saw." Ashley blinks and forgets everything. "Well, didn't you see it?" The Chromatin shakes her head. "Only the ones who had the memories can have them back." Chroma sighs. "You'll have to ask Codey for the secret he's been keeping all these years. If he tells you the spell will break and he will be a human again." Ashley looks up at Chroma. "Again?" The Chromatin nods. "His family was once human. They did something to some old lady and she gave them a curse making them forget who they are and what they were. Codey thinks he was a pup but when his mom was pregnant everything was fine. He doesn't know it yet but, if he tells you the secret, you have to tell him and remind him who he is. You have to do it at the right time though 'cause if you don't, there will be consequences for what you decide to do." Ashley is confused. "What does Codey have to do with me?" The Chromatin crosses her arms. "Only the ones who have the memories can have them back remember?" Ashley takes a couple of steps back. "Thank you Chroma." The Chromatin bows down to Ashley. "My pleasure. See you again in the mornin'." Chroma fades away. Ashley takes a breath of relief getting that over with and walks to the kitchen trying to get herself back to sleep and sees Codey scratching the walls with his claws. He sighs and lays on the couch. "Maybe your cottage can use a makeover." Codey looks over at Ashley and smirked. "You're awake? There must be something wrong. You okay baby doll?" Ashley smiles. "No there's nothing wrong I just can't really sleep." Codey looked down at the floor.

"I see." He looks up at Ashley. "Would you like me to give you some company?" Ashley is completely shocked. "W-what?" Codey laughs. "Is is not normal for a man to sleep with a woman?" Ashley chuckled. Codey noticed what he said and shook his head and tried to ignore that situation. "Well, I don't actually sleep. I can only rest for like 5 hours and I'm back to awake mode. Heh." Ashley then responds. "It's normal but, it's just not normal for a werewolf to do that." Codey shakes his head. "Yes it is." Ashley smiled back at him. "Well at least for a woman." Codey hesitates and backs up. "Oh I-I was just- uh, hm. Never mind then." He walked to the couch and sat down looking at the fire. Ashley felt kind of bad but if Codey's door had something to do with him being in her past then she would be very scared at someone who would stay in her room and do who knows what. "I better get some sleep. See ya tomorrow. Okay bud?" She walks close to him and messes with his hair. He was frowning and when he felt her touch, he smiled. She walks away to her room. Codey looks at the ceiling and he takes a deep breath in and out. Ashley lays on her bed and hears something vibrating near her bed. Bri texts her. Ashley looks at the message. She whispers to herself and read the message.

Messages start here:

Bri: Hey Ash. I was wondering if you can come to the game today. Sorry it's 3:46 in the morning. I was just at a party a couple of hours ago and still feel awake.

Ashley sighs and responds

Ashley: Yeah sure I'll go watch your game.

Bri: Okay girl!

Ashley: So when does the game start?

Bri: At six. I'll see ya there. Bye!
