I stand still looking at Rebecca while she makes a girl step back right as she tried to reach for Luke who is smiling at all the mums and the kids.
Luke is like a magnet, everybody likes him, doesn't matter how old they are or what gender they are, everyone will be enchanted by the innocent smile of the blonde boy, and just how the snotty fell in this hole, all the milfs around us are staring at him with heart eyes while he's kissing Rebecca's forehead saying goodbye.
"Uncle Lukey" The snotty calls him and the boy lowers himself to get to her level looking at her with a gentle smile.
"Did you ever think about breaking up with Brooke?" The little one asks as Luke's eyes widen before shaking his head. He then bursts into laughter , here we go, he's breaking another young heart.
"No beautiful, but don't worry you're my favorite blonde one" He says pinching her cheek and making her smile again, Rebecca turns her head towards the school when the bell rings and then looks at me waiting.
I roll my eyes before grabbing Daniel from the backseat of the car and giving it to her, after that I walk with her to the main entrance leaving Luke at the car, by now I get that she's scared of facing this hallway alone, point is that I don't know why.
"Morning Rebecca" A woman appears in front of us with a flower dress, I look at her she's blonde short hair that falls on her shoulders and I look at her big smile similar to the one that I usually see on dental care commercials.
"Morning miss Joseph" The little one waves at her, the woman makes a little wink to her before pointing her blue eyes at me, I would not be surprised if out of nowhere this nice lady gave me a cupcake or just an hug.
"Are you Charlotte's brother? A friend?" She asks smiling and I shake my head while Rebecca stares at us.
"No, I'm Ashton, I'm.. " I start but the snotty one stops me.
"My dad" She says with a high pitched voice while the woman looks at me confused for a second before getting back to her cookie lady appearance.
"Rebecca, what about you go on your desk while I talk to your dad?" She asks caressing the little one's hair, the kid smiles before running to her desk with Daniel in her arms.
"My name is Jenna Joseph, Rebecca's teacher, nice to meet you, Charlotte never told me that Rebecca has a father, I though he left" She says lightly shocked. I nod putting my hands in my pockets.
"To be honest I didn't know about the little one two weeks ago" I say shrugging my shoulder, the woman nods before smiling at me again, like this was funny.
"You're young to be a father, but I'm not surprised, Charlotte and you made a miracle, Rebecca is so smart and intelligent" I look at the kid who's standing alone with her dolphin.
"Yes, nice, I have to go to work now, it's been a pleasure" I say trying to leave but the woman grabs my arm and looks at me in my eyes changing from a girl that would have gave me some cookies to a strict bear's mum.
"Ashton, Rebecca is a particular kid she doesn't deserve to be left alone again, give her a chance to make you understand her, you don't know the weight she carries on her shoulders" She says making me confused, what does that mean?
Please it better not be a story where a ghost is inside Daniel, because I swear to god that if she brought a demon inside my house I kick her out immediately .
"Ashton, I'm gonna be late to class" Luke screams at me from the main entrance of the school, the teacher then leaves me.
"Have a nice day" The woman says before getting inside the classroom leaving me with too many doubts, now what am I supposed to do?
You know what? Fuck it, tonight I'm gonna call a priest, I'm not gonna stay in a house with a girl that talks with Satan.
"What did the sexy teacher tell you?" Luke asks while I get back to the car, I think again about the woman's words before shaking my head trying to make those words get out of my head.
"No nothing, she's just a weird woman"
