Lucy's POV
We stepped through the portal to see galaxy like patterns all around us. We looked on in amazement at how beautiful the surroundings were with a smile on our faces. We looked around for a few seconds but got teleported to the other end of the portal. (What the portal looks like is in the Media). We soon stepped through and saw streets with many shops on either side. There were many people walking on the streets, going in and out of every store. The people were wearing royal clothes that had intricate patterns on them that made them look like they came out of a fairy tale. Nostalgia washed over me as I looked at the people and buildings surrounding me. I peered at Itou to see him bouncing up and down with excitement. I then glanced at Caspian who was looking at his surroundings with a smile on his face.
"Welcome back Lucy! You're finally home!" Caspian shouted as he got the attention of the people walking by. They stopped to look at me when Caspian said that, and they all had a huge grin on their faces. Most of them rushed over to me and started hugging me tightly. Itou stood there with a shocked and confused expression on his face while more and more people started crowding around me.
"You're finally home!" One shouted as they looked at me with happy eyes.
"She finally returned!" Another shouted as they hugged me tighter. A single happy tear escaped my eye as I hugged them back.
"I'm home!" I shouted as happiness consumed me.
Itou's POV
I looked at Lucy with a questioning face as I watched her get hugged to death.
"Why does everybody know Lucy? Is she an important person here?" I asked as I turned to look at Caspian. He glanced at me and nodded his head.
"She's a pretty big person in this realm. She's part of the royal family." Caspian explained as he looked at Lucy with a heartwarming expression. I widened my eyes and looked over at Lucy again. No wonder she's so popular.
"Wow. She just gets better day by day." I mumbled to myself as I started feeling a little bit distanced from her. There are so many things she is that I'm not. She's part of a royal family, she's a goddess, and she's immortal. How do I even keep up?
"Don't worry. She won't leave you behind. She might actually stick with you more." Caspian said as he put a hand on my shoulder in a comforting way. I was surprised at how he knew what I was thinking but soon responded with a grateful smile.
"Thanks. I'll keep that in mind." I said as I turned to look at Lucy. She started to squeeze her way out of the crowd and when she did, she started walking to me.
"Hey Itou, Caspian, what should we do now?" She asked as she smiled at Caspian and me. I looked at her and smiled to myself happily, thinking about how I was so lucky to have Lucy as my friend.
"You guys want to go to the castle? I'm sure everybody there is waiting for you to come home." Caspian said as he looked at us, waiting for an answer.
"Sure! That's a great idea. I can't wait to go home." Lucy said as her eyes gleamed with happiness. I simply nodded and looked at Caspian. He responded with an enthusiastic ok, and we were off. We used the portal to make the journey faster, and when we arrived, we were right in front of the castle gates. The guards looked at us but when he saw Caspian and Lucy, they immediately let us in. We thanked the guards and made our way into the castle.
"I wonder if they recognized me. It has been a very long time." Lucy said as she walked through the castle hallways.
"I'm sure they do." Caspian and I said together as we walked behind her. We looked at each other and smiled. She looked at us and smiled while heading to the throne room. After a bit of walking, we finally made it to where Lucy and Caspian's family were. I saw Lucy take a breath of reassurance to calm her nerves. After she calmed down, she slowly opened the huge wooden doors.
Lucy's POV
I opened the doors to see a bright light flash in my face. After the brightness died down, I saw my parents sitting on their thrones like how I remembered. They slowly looked up to see who entered the room, but when they saw me, their eyes started watering.
"Lucy? Is that really you?" They asked as they started making their way towards me. I nodded and their eyes started watering. They ran towards me and strangled me in a tight hug, whispering welcomes to me. We hugged there for a while until we let go of each other.
"Welcome home Lucy." They said as they smiled kindly at me.
"I'm home," I said as a happy tear left my eyes. Caspian and Itou were on the sidelines watching with a happy expression. Once we got all the sappy stuff out of the way, Caspian and Itou made their way to us.
"Hey mom, dad, I brought Lucy home just like how I said I was going to," Caspian said as he looked at me. Mom and dad had a blissful expression on their faces as they saw the both of us but then turned their attention towards Itou.
"Now, who could you be young man?" Dad asked with a smile on his face.
"Hello sir, my name is Itou Kirigaya, Lucy's friend," Itou said as he bowed down. Mom and dad seemed happy about Itou's politeness and told him to rise.
"Hello Itou, I'm Layla Heartfilia, Lucy's mother. And here is my husband, Jude Heartfilia, Lucy's father. Thank you for taking care of my daughter, Itou. It is a pleasure to meet you." Mom said as she had a grateful expression on her face. Dad just nodded with a grin on his face.
"It is a pleasure to meet you too," Itou said and bowed once again. Dad and mom told him to rise and asked him a question.
"So, what is you're magic Itou?" Dad asked.
"I'm a particle dragon slayer, sir," Itou responded as he demonstrated his magic, making a bright gold flame on the tip of his fingers. Mom and dad nodded their head and asked me a question.
"Do you want to stay here at the castle or do you want to go back?" Mom asked.
"I want to stay here and train. I need to restore all of the power I used to have." I said as I looked at them determined.
"I'll get your rooms ready then. I'll have Lucy in her old room, Itou would be in the room next to her, and Caspian would be in his room." Mom said as she ordered the maids to get Caspian and my room cleaned up and to have Itou's room prepared. Once the rooms were ready, we said our goodbyes and made our way towards our rooms to have a well-deserved rest.
