Hatter's POV

After Fairy Tail left, Alice, the spirits, and I met up at Alice's room to talk about what we were going to do with Fairy Tail.

"So, what are we gonna do if we meet Fairy Tail again?" I asked as I turned to look at everybody.

"We'll just pretend like we didn't know them," Alice said, a little nervous.

"But what if Fairy Tail asks us about our past?" Cheshire asked. Alice thought for a little bit and responded.

"We'll say that we were from across the continent. In our village, fairy tales were a heavy influence so we dress up as characters and act like them. It's hard to believe, but Fairy Tail is dense in that sense. We'll be fine... I hope." Alice said confidently in the beginning but worried at the end. Everybody, including me, nodded our heads, agreeing. We talked for a few minutes, wrapping it up. The spirits went back to the spirit world, leaving Alice and me alone together. The silence was a bit awkward, but then I decided to start up a conversation.

"So, should we go on a job tomorrow?" I asked, waiting for her answer. She answered with a slow nod and looked back down. I saw her glum look and knew that something was up.

"What's wrong? Everything alright?" I asked once again. She looked at me with sad eyes.

"It's just that, I feel bad leaving Fairy Tail without even saying goodbye. Knowing them, they were probably worrying all this time. Because nobody found me those years, they probably think I'm dead. While they were worrying about me, I wasn't even thinking about them. What a terrible person I am." She said as a few tears left her eyes. I went over to her and sat her down on her bed. I quickly wrapped my arms around her, pulling her into a warm, comforting hug.

"Shhh, It'll be alright. When they came over, they looked like their normal selves. They are probably worrying about you a lot, but they seem to have gotten over the shock. They seemed fine, you don't have to worry about this anymore." I cooed. She cried into my chest while I gently rubbed circles on her back. After a few minutes, she calmed down and all you could hear was sniffles.

"Thanks, Hatter, I really needed that." She said as she released herself from the hug. She smiled happily at me and my heart skipped a beat. Her smile was so beautiful, I would do anything to protect it. I smiled back, happy with her and my thoughts. I turned to look at the clock on the wall and it was already eleven thirty. I decided to go back to my room to sleep but before then, I gave her a quick, light kiss on her forehead.

"Goodnight your highness," I said as I gave her a wink. I saw her face grow even redder by the second. I chuckled lightly and walked out of the room, satisfied with myself.

Alice's POV

Once Hatter kissed my forehead, it took me a few minutes to calm down. I looked at the door Hatter walked out of and unconsciously touched the place on my forehead where he kissed. I smiled lightly as I changed into my nightgown. I went to my bathroom and brushed my teeth, getting ready for bed. Once I finished, I went back to my bed and tucked in. I closed my eyes, ready to go to sleep after an exhausting day.

*time skip*

I was in my guild with Fairy Tail there with me. I looked around me to see that only Hatter, my spirits, Fairy Tail, and I were there. I wondered about the other guild members, but I shrugged it off. I went to one of the tables to get a few refreshments when I heard someone walk up to me.

"Hey, you really do look familiar," Natsu said as he once again looked at me, trying to figure out who I was.

"I'm just Alice, the guild master of this guild," I said with a shaky voice.

"Are you sure? You don't seem too certain of it." Natsu said. I nodded my head, beads of sweat rolling down my face.

"You sort of remind me of... Lucy." Erza said as she walked up to me. My heart pounded in my chest with worry. I didn't want to blow my cover when I tried so hard to make it not obvious. Everybody nodded and as they saw me, they nodded sadly. I saw Hatter looking at me with annoyed eyes while I was trying to come up with what to say. I gulped and replied.

"What? I'm sorry but I haven't heard of this Lucy person before. Is she one of your comrades?" I asked trying to make it so that I didn't know her. They began explaining her to me but the more they explained to me, the more they realized how alike we are. Hatter walked up to us and said something that made my eyes go wide.

"Yeah, she's Lucy. I'm getting tired of pretending like we're different people. I mean, how important is covering up your identity. I don't get it. If you keep on trying to put up this act, I'm leaving." Hatter said with an unpleasant expression. A few tears left my eyes when I heard this and fell on my knees. All of the Fairy Tail members looked at me with hurt eyes.

"You are Lucy? Why didn't you tell us?" Gray whispered.

"I was going to tell y-!"

"Did you not trust us?" Erza said.

"I trust you guys! I w-!"

"Then why didn't you tell us? I thought we were friends, but I guess I was wrong." Natsu said with a disappointed face. The last statement hurt me the most. Did I really look that untrustworthy? More and more people asked me why I didn't tell them but when I tried to reply, they kept on interrupting me with more questions about trust and friendship. I saw in the corner of my eyes Hatter looking at me with a disgusted face. More and more tears escaped my eyes as I saw the Fairy Tail members leave one by one with a revolted expression on their face. I put my face in my hands and wept. Tears kept on streaming down my face as I hunched over. (Image in Media but her clothes and hair are still like Alice's)

No one came over to give me a hug. No one told me that I was going to be alright. At that moment, I truly felt alone.
