"Where have you been?"
I grunt and bury my face into the pillow. My head was throbbing and I just wanna go back to sleep. It was like I only slept for ten minutes since Lacey and I drove back to my place.
"Melody, I asked you a question. Where have you been?"
Grrr. I instantly turned around and glared at my maid, Meridith. I checked my alarm on my nightstand and it was only seven in the morning.
"Why are you here so early?" I inquired, frowning at her.
She ignored my question and asked, "Where have you been last night?"
"Ugh, partying! Okay? Can I go back to sleep now?" I flopped back down to my soft, comfy pillows and closed my eyes.
Last night was a bit of a blur since I was drinking about three cups full of beer. I was surprised I actually got home without a scratch or any cops seeing me drunk driving. It just shows how strong my sobriety is.
"I'm afraid you can't, Melody for you have a busy day ahead of you today." She said, sternly. "And plus, Lacey is already downstairs with breakfast so please get up." She added.
"Ugh fine! You're so bossy!" I complained but obeyed.
I sit upright, my head throbbing a bit and headed to the bathroom.
I head in the shower and took off last night's clothing and closed the curtains. My head was still throbbing a bit from the alcohol I drank last night. How much did I drink?
Everything that happened last night was so blurry when I got tipsy. But major parts of the events was clear to me. Dancing with Lacey, talking to Kent, kissing him-
"That bastard!"
That's when I remembered that Kent actually tried to get in my pants. I am so going to kick his balls on Monday. It was a miracle that I got away from him befire things got worse. Thanks to that mystery guy. Of course, him rescuing me. I tried to remember his face but it was so blurry. All I remember was that his name was Matt, I think and . . . and those grey eyes, those twinkling eyes of his, that's what make him iconic. I could never forget those eyes but still I forgot his face.
All I was questioning now was . . .
Where is he now?
After taking a shower, I just wore some casual clothing and went downstairs to the kitchen, where Lacey was sitting at the table, eating quietly. When she saw me, she smiled.
"Is your maid always that bossy? She forced me to get up." She whispered when I sat down across her.
"Just get used to it and now look at me."
She snorted and said, "I thought she doesn't come till noon?"
"Yeah, why is that?"
Is there something I'm supposed to do today? But it's the weekend and all my school work was done. Meredith only comes early when there's something important. What's the occasion? Am I in trouble? Does Dad know?
Meredith was just grabbing the carton of orange juice when I heard her mutter something about being here. What is going on that she isn't telling me? I'm guessing it may be my father.
"Melody, I'm going to be heading out, the pantry is almost empty. I won't be long." She informed, and I nodded.
I lead her to the door and that's when I asked, "Mer, is something going on?"
"I guess so, ma'am."
"What's it about then?" I frowned.
"I'm afraid I can't tell you. Your father just instructed me to wake you early to get ready." She said.
