"You can stop following me now." I stopped walking. I turned around to see Matt, his bag slung on his left shoulder.

"Yeah, why are you following us?" Lacey asked beside me.

"Coz' it's lunch and it's obvious you guys are going there too?" He answered, questioningly.

"You're a big boy now, Matthew. Fly free, make friends but not shitty ones, yeah?" I told him.

"Please, I won't be annoying. I just don't want to be alone." He approached us. "And plus, Darcy might happen like earlier." He added.

"Wait, what happened earlier Melody?" Lacey suddenly asked. "What did that wrench do?" She held my arm.

"I'm fine, Lacey. Nothing happened, just an encounter, that's all." I assured her.

She then looked at Matt with pity. "It can't hurt to sit with him, you know." She said to me. "You can't leave him alone, Mel."

"That's what making friends are for, Lacey. To not be lonely." I gave her a blank stare. I then turned to Matthew. "And you, with a face like that who wouldn't want to be your friend?"

"Well, I don't want their friendship I want yours because I think you too are the only decent ones here-"

"That's because we're the only people you know, except for Darcy." I cut him off.

"And I did try befriending people, girls were getting the message wrong and would start flirting with me." He hollered.

"Ooh, egotistical too. Add that to the list." I said sarcastically.

"Come on, Melody." Lacey pouted, giving me her cute begging face.

"Fine! Just this once then you go make friends." I told Matthew while Lacey was smiling widely.

I sat at the table where Matt and Lacey were already eating. I'm surprised they got along pretty fast without Lacey flirting with him. Matthew and his stupid charms. I drank on the water bottle that I bought and put it down on the table. I wasn't in the mood to eat anything today.

"Where's your lunch?"

I look up and see Matthew looking back at me. He was holding his burger in his hands while munching on a big bite. I couldn't help but get disgusted. Boys do eat like a pig.

"I'm not hungry." I answered shortly.

"But you didn't eat anything back home except for that plain oatmeal." He said, raising his eyebrow.

"And that's enough." I retorted.

I looked at Lacey who was giving me a worried look but I gave her the look that everything is fine. She gave me a small smile and continued eating.

That's right, I got it under control.

"Hey, Matt." Lacey said. "Girls at twelve o'clock." She whispered enough for me to hear also.

I turned around and saw some cheerleader girls looking at our direction, smiling flirtatiously. I looked back at Matthew to see his reaction on this and wasn't surprised he was giving them a smile. I can't believe he was enjoying this.

"Why won't you sit with them then?" I asked.

"I was just smiling, Melody." He said, casually. "Don't get too jealous." He added, smirking.

Lacey suddenly coughed her sandwich. I blushed pink and glared at him.

"Flirt again and you will be walking home." I pointed at him.
