"Ugh! Why do you have to go?" I groaned.
"Oh stop whining like a child, Melody. I wasn't really going to stay for the whole day." Meredith said, getting her handbag.
"But I don't want to be alone with him!" I whispered, pointing my thumb back, indicating Matthew who was just in the living room doing who knows what.
"Well, guess what. You are, he's gonna be living here everyday now. Get over it." She said. "Like you never had any trouble with ny boy before." She mutters.
"Hey! I heard that!"
"As if it's not true. You're lucky I don't tell your father, if I did he'd freak out." She joked.
"Why don't you tell him then? It's not like he sent an opposite sex to live with me." I said, sarcastically.
"Just stop whining, Melody. Nothing's going to happen to you. Just be nice and friendly to Matthew. Don't try to pull anything on him." She pointed at me then opening the door.
"Please don't go yet!" I whined.
"I have to go, Melody. My husband's waiting for me." She said.
"Fine!" I pouted.
"Oh and remember to help Matthew with school tomorrow, show him around, help him register and don't leave him in any place he doesn't know." She reminded me.
"So am I a babysitter now?" I said, sarcastically.
"No you're being a friend to him." She said, smiling. "Now I gotta go. Bye, Melody." She said before heading out.
"Bye, say hi to your husband for me."
"I will."
And then she was gone.

The whole day, I just spent it being in my room doing what I can to lessen the boredom. I continued painting, sketching and checking if I missed any homeworks. So for short I'm finding ways to ignore Matthew. I don't really know what he's doing outside. Probably in his room unpacking because I can hear his footsteps outside my door. I cannot believe his room is just next to mine.
I had no one to talk to so I just called Lacey. She answered right away and I told her everything.
"Wow, that's a bit messed up for your father to send a male to live with you but why would you worry?" She said, "It's not like the first time you've been with a boy." I can see her smirking in my head.
"That's what Meredith said. But still! I just- Ugh!" I flopped down on my bed.
"But didn't you mention that he used to be your childhood bestfriend? So basically, he's not a total stranger to you." She said.
"So what if we used to be friends? It's been two years since I left New York, Lace. Everything changed, even me."
"Just give him a chance, Melody."
"Why does everyone keep saying that? How can I be sure I can trust him? You don't know, maybe he wasn't my friend and he's actually a notorious serial killer."
"Calm down, jeez. You have a point there, Mel. But just think about it. I gotta go, my Mom grounded me after she found out about the party. Byee."
"Say hi to Mrs. Anderson for me." I chuckle and hang up.
I checked the time and was surprised, it was five in the afternoon now. How long have I been locked in here? My stomach suddenly growled, now I'm suddenly hungry.
I went outside in the halls and peeked in the other room, I saw a glimpse of Matthew in the room but that's it, I continued walking. I went down to the kitchen and started getting some ingredients for pasta.
