I hope he's right

-Your POV-
You and Rhett decide to go to a classic Italian restaurant, and leave the house.

"I'll drive!" Rhett says before taking the keys from your hand. You huff, "Stubborn." You say while smiling.

"What can I say, I'm best friends with someone almost as stubborn as me. And I'm talking about you, not Link. Links wayyy more stubborn than me!" You giggle and get into the passenger seat.

Good Times starts playing on the radio and you sing along,

"I never wanna leave this sunset town...

But one day the time may come.."

Rhett joined in and you sang together while watching the early sunset from the car window.

You got to the restaurant and sat down. The waiter comes over to your table and says happily, "Ooh! You're such a cute couple... can I start you with some drinks?"

"Oh... we're not.." Rhett stated.

"Oh! Just friends?"

"Yup" You say popping the P.

He smiles and you tell the waiter your drink order before going to the menu.

"I think I'm just going to get the classic pasta. What about you?" You say, smiling at Rhett as he looks up at you from his menu.

"That's just what I was thinking!" You laugh and start talking until the waiter comes back with your water and Rhett's coke.

"So What will it be?" He asks, smiling wide.

"The original pasta please" You say kindly. He nods and his eyes go from you to Rhett.

"I'll have the same."

"Okay, it should be out shortly!" He says before leaving and going into the kitchen.

You keep talking until you hear the restaurant door slam shut, making you a bit startled.

Without thinking, rhett takes your hand in his. He holds on tight, as if he's afraid to let go.

You hear a man yell, "Where's the money?" And you start to hide a bit, out of instinct. Rhett grabs your waist and pulls you to his side of the booth before you both duck under the table.

"You're okay... I'm gonna keep you safe." He whispers in a soothing voice, calming you down.

'I hope he's right.'
