Lenice's POV
Pain emanates from my frost bitten skin. The crystal white snow falls
from the sky and lands all around me. I try to sit up, but my body screams in pain, refusing to move. I attempt to call for help, but only a hoarse noise comes out, not going anywhere. I'm going to die here. Memories from the previous events flash into my mind. Sam and I go outside, we talk, she shoots, I fall, then darkness. She shot me. Where'd she shoot? I don't feel it. I slowly lift my head in search of the supposed wound. I turn my head left then right and that's when I see it. On my right shoulder is a hole with dry blood surrounding it. Tears fall from my eyes and land on the snow around me, but not because of the pain.
I snap my head to the sound of a crunching noise to my right. A shadowy figure strolls over to me. The snow falls thicker, making it even more difficult to see who the strangers is. The figure grows bigger with each step it takes. I try to move myself into an upright position to no avail. The figure is a lot closer now. From its frame, I can tell that it's a woman with a thick coat on. In her right hand is a flashlight that cuts through the darkness. The crunching of her boots grow louder and louder until they stop right by my face. I slowly turn my head to look up at the stranger, only to realize it wasn't a stranger at all.
"Alaina?"
