Chapter 3 : Jealously is a Sin

     It's been a couple of years since Mikela has been General of the Guards. Soneya and I are nighteen now and we've joined the guards in training. She's quite the warrior... she ranked highest in her class in sword combat, for me I ranked highest in my archery class. I'm trying to get better at fight in sword combat so she's helping me, one thing I noticed while we were fighting.... she smiled at me. It was confusing she didn't have the expression of angry or concentration just happiness, she never took her eyes off of me which made me not focus on the things around me. I didn't notice that my foot wasn't correctly placed becuase before I knew it I was tripped and fell back with her sword up to my throat, I just stared at her expression of happiness still on her face.

     " You really need to work on your footing, or else your gonna get yourself killed. " She smiled down at me while offering her hand to help me up.

     " How can I focus on my footing, when I'm so focused on you~ " I flirted.

     She just laughed and helped me up, once she turned her back I pulled her back and caught her before she hit the ground. I smiled at her shocked expression as she layed in my arms,

     " And you need to not let your guard down, even though you think your opponent is down you always make sure they're dead before you turn your back on them. " She giggled and I helped her up.

    " Excuse me. " A fellow guard asked.

    " Yes? " I asked waiting for his response.

    " You two are needed by General Mikela in the commons area. "

    " Alright, we'll be there. " I answered for both of us.

    We got our armor on and walked side by side to the commons, I looked at her as she walked next to me... she's so cute in her armor. As we got there we noticed that the whole village was in a group and there were some other guards around someone, from what I could see it looked like a guy with black hair and a mask covering his nose down? We soon met up with Mikela so we stood behind him as the village parted ways for us to get through. I looked at the guy again... he had one of his eyes covers with his hair, and the eye showing was icy blue.

     " I thought you've forgotten about our meeting... " The man spoke, he had a very deep voice and he spoke a little slow.

    " How could I forget about this opportunity. Let me introduce you to Soneya, top of her class. And Izan, top of his class. " Mikela announced.

    We bowed to show respect.

     " Izan. Soneya. This is High Priest Zane, from O'Khasis. " Mikela introduce us to him.

     Then Zane walked up to Soneya and asked for her hand she placed her hand in his, then he bestowed a kiss on her hand through his mask.

     " Why is such a beautiful girl training to fight in a war? "

He's Flirting With Her!

    " My apologies sir... but I did choose to go into training. I would rather fight for the ones I love... Then just sits around and watch... " She answerd.

     " You are quite brave from what I can tell... I like that about you... "

He's Flirting With Soneya!

     " Mikela, would you mind terribly if Soneya showed me around the village? " He asked

     I immediately looked at Mikela with worried eyes, he looked at me then at him,

     " Sure, but have Izan go with you guys. They fight better with each other, just to make sure. "

    I looked back at Zane, in his eyes showed disappointment but it didn't show on his face. He nodded and we began to walk, him and Soneya walked side by side while I stayed back. I watched as he made her laugh and she showed him around he paid no attention to me, but my full attention was on him.

     " So... Zane... why are you visiting our village again? " I ran to the other side of him.

     " Well I've been receiving a lot of requests of being the priest at the incoming weddings in your village. " He respond with a smug like tone in his voice.

     " And you must be a pretty busy guy, so you probably won't be able to stay long. Right? " I asked hoping he would get the message from me that he's unwanted.

     " Well... actually I've been quite interested in your villages history, I'm hoping I could stay a little longer... " He stated then looking at Soneya again.

   After showing Zane the whole town we went to the place he'll be staying in, before he went in he walks to Soneya and takes her hands.

     " Thank you, again for giving me a tour of the place. " His face had a little blush and I could tell he was smiling through the mask.

     " No problem, it was an honor to show you our village. "

  ...She's Blushing...

 

  He kissed her hands again then walked in the house, she turned around and looked at me face still a little pink.

     " Well... See ya tomorow Izan! " She smiled and gave me a hug before running home.

    I just looked at ground and clenched my fists, I looked back at the house and saw Zane in the window... he had a smile on his face. Then he looked at me and walked away from the window, I don't know who you think you are... but one things for sure...
