Started As Friends ( Izan × Soneya )

Chapter 4 : Turning Point

It's been a month in a half since Zane arrived, and ever since he got here he's been flirting with Soneya! He's been flirting with her and pulling her away from everyone. He's lucky he's not just any guy in the village because by now, he'd learn not to mess with her. But now every time I even get close to him his guards are always watching me, I'm getting to the point where I don't care... High Preist or not! I was walking around the village trying to find Soneya but she wasn't in the village, I asked everyone but they didn't see her. I thought where she could've been and realized, our special spot. I ran up the hill to our spot but when I was able to see the tree... I saw something that I wish I had never seen. I saw her with him leaning on the tree... his arm wrapped around her while she was talking, I walked to where I was in their sight.

" Oh, Hi Izan! " She smiled at me.

" Hi Soneya... " I pulled a fake smile.

I looked at Zane and saw his irritated expression,

" Am I interupting something... " I asked staring at him.

" Oh no you're no- "

" Well actually you are at the moment... why don't you leave us alone... " Zane snapped at me cutting Soneya's sentence off.

I looked at Soneya with soft eyes, " Do you really want me to leave? " I asked hoping she wouldn't say yes.

She started getting up and so did Zane, " No it's fin- "

She was cut off guard by Zane pulling her into his arms and looking at me, he held her tightly I could tell she was uncomfortable.

" Z-Zane? " She asked with a light shade of pink speeding across her face.

He didn't respond with words, but put his face up to the side of her neck... and smile at me through his mask.... Without thinking I pulled her out of his arms and threw her up on my shoulder, facing away from him like I was her shield then looked back at him.

" Don't Touch Her! She's Mine! " I shouted.

I looked up at her face... she was blushing and my face felt hot, probley from both anger... and embarrassment. I sat her down and looked at her, I mentally wanted to slap myself.

The silence was broken by Zane's laugh, " Your's huh... " He walked around me and grabbed Soneya. " Let's see about that.... " He smiled through his mask.

" Soneya.... " My voice barely audible. " Are you with him...? " I asked with heartbreak.

" Of course she is, now why don't you run along.... " Zane snapped at me.

My heart shattered as I nodded and began to walk away, but I stoped when I heard him say,

" Now that he's gone.... "

I quickly looked back to see her chin being lifted up to his face his mask pulled down, and his face leaning towards her's. I Snapped! My blood was boiling through out my body, and my once normal nails were like racers. I ran up as hard as I could and punched him square in the jaw, sending him backwards while pulling Soneya closer to me with my other arm. I saw Soneya in my arm looking terrified as she looked at my hand, my veins were blogging out and my hand size was bigger than before.

" Izan.... your hand.... " She pointed out while she quivers not from Zane, but from my reaction.

" I know Soneya... I'll be fine... " I reinsure her giving a smile.

The moment was broken by Zane's laughter, I snapped my gaze on him getting up. He whipped a little bit of blood from his mouth as pulled his mask up again, continuing to laugh.

" I don't understand you... " He said in between his laughs. " Before I thought you were human... but now I know.... you're just a freak! " His laugh became louder.

" A freak I may be... but- "

" But what!? You're always going to be a freak! And a friend to Soneya... nothing more... " He smiled through his mask at Soneya.

I pulled her closer to me in order to protect her from him, he walked closer to us and looked at her again.

" Till we meet again... my Priestess... " He said while walking away looking at Soneya. Then looked at me, " Goodbye lover boy.... We'll meet again soon... " He laughed as he walked back to the village where is guards are waiting for him.

I looked back at Soneya and she looked at me with worry in her eyes,

" Don't worry Soneya... I won't let him touch you ever again... " I stroked her hair when she smiled and hugged me.
