I woke up the next morning curled up against my brother's side. He started at the ceiling with worry shining clear in his eyes. I took his hand in mine causing his gaze to shift to me.

"Good morning Lee." he said smiling.

"Hey." I mumbled.

"How are ya feelin?"

"Fine. Just fine."

"I don't believe you. Oh well time to get up anyways. I have to go shopping ok? Ill be back in a few hours. Don't try anything."

He got up and walked out with that. I groaned and managed to drag myself upright. Light poured in through my black curtains, blinding my sleepy eyes. I quickly got up and closed them. I hated the light.

My room was mostly black. The walls, the carpet, bedspread, everything, was covered in black. The only thing that wasn't black was the giant red Dragon I had painted on one of my walls. It was anime styled and it's neck twisted up into the air and it's mouth wide open. Flames shot out and spread onto the rest of the wall.

Yea that's right. I'm both an artist and an anime freak. Along another one of my walls was nothing but bookshelves full of manga. I had everything from Naruto to Inuyasha, to even Fruits Basket. Jack had built the shelves for me years ago when I started running out of space to keep all the Japanese books. He bought me another one almost every time he went out.

I sighed and walked over to yet another shelf by the books. It wasn't as big but it was still full of anime. This one was all the anime DVDs I had. I picked out my Bleach DVDs and headed downstairs to watch them. We didn't have that big of a tv but it was good enough for me.

I leaned back into the soft couch and watched the first episode. Ichigo fascinates me for some reason. I don't know why but he just does. I was right at the part where he slices off the hollow's arm when I heard a knock at the door. Who could that possibly be? I have no friends and no family besides Jack so who?

I got up and answered the door to find a girl about my age standing there at the door. She was a lot shorter than me though. I was about a foot taller than her. She had bright blue eyes and long black hair. I've never seen her before in my life. She looked emo by the style of her clothes. Her shirt read My Chemical Romance and she had skin tight jeans on.

"May I help you?" I mumbled wearily.

"Um yea. Um I heard from somebody at school that your the anime fanatic. Um I was wondering if I could see your collection?" she asked shyly.

"Um yea I guess. I was just watching Bleach."

"Oh wow! I love Bleach! I like Ichigo the best!" she said with a smile.

"Uh yea cool."

My facial expression didn't change. It was still that scowl I always wear. I can't help it! I don't really feel anymore so what makes a difference what my expression is. I walked the girl through the living room and down the hall to my room. She started fangirling over all the books in my room and automatically picked one off the shelf and started reading it.

"Hey! What's your name anyways?" She asked.

"Lee. "

"That's a nice name. My name's Samantha but you can call me Sam."

I sat down in my desk chair without saying anything back. It was incredibly awkward for her to be here with me. I don't talk to anyone besides my brother. She frowned at me and came to sit beside me. Too close. I scooted away from her a bit but she moved closer.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

"None of your business." I snapped.

"I just asked. What's that?" she said pointing to my wrist.

"Again. Non of your business!"

"Let me see!!!!"

She pounced at me and grabbed my wrist. Her grip was so tight that it hurt uncontrollably. It hurt worse than it did when I cut it. I screamed in pain and she instantly let go, worried she had done something terrible. I gritted my teeth and glared at her.

"I-im sorry. Is it my fault?" she asked softly.

"Yes! Just go away! Leave me alone!" I yelled, tears threatening to fall.

"Ok." she whispered and left without another word.

I unwrapped my wrist and found the wounds bleeding again. After rewrapping them, I laid down and fell asleep.....

*****

I woke up when something sat down beside me. I opened my eyes to find Jack sitting beside me, waiting for me to wake up. Why was he so protective? I groaned and rolled away from him only to fall onto the floor.

"Owwww!!!" I mumbled, rubbing my head.

"Idiot." My brother chuckled.

"Shut up! What time is it?"

"8:30 why?

"I've been asleep that long? Oh well."

"Here I bought this for you."

He handed me a new manga. The cover read D.N.Angel and had and image of a red haired boy on the front. Looks interesting. Jack left quickly knowing I'd want to read it right away.

I had it read by 10:00. The red haired boy ended up being an 8th grade kid named Daisuke. He finds out he can turn into the legendary phantom thief, Dark. By night, he's an art thief but by day, he's a regular teenager.

I stood up and walked over to my shelves to put my new manga with the others. Tomorrow's Monday so I have to go to bed early so I can get up and go to the horrible prison known as school.

I changed into a pair of baggy sweatpants and a tight, white t-shirt. I layed down on my stomach and closed my eyes and fell asleep quickly.
