Age: 16 (when the story actually starts)

Personality: She can have her anger issues, including when you threaten the ones she cares about as you will see in the story when the fire nation or anybody threatens her friends, even if they are on her side. When her anger isn't getting the best of her, she's usually calm as having to learn to stay calm during her time in the water tribes. Other than those two traits, she is very protective, lovable, and funny. Even if Sokka cracks a horrible joke, she'll try to make him feel better about himself, even if it means dissing herself.
But you need to be careful with her, as she has had her heart broken too many times as people would put it. She does her best to hide it, but the three who know her best know what's really wrong.

Past: Her original parents abandoned her after she was born, but the commander of the fire nation's army, at the point, had found her while he was on his way home and took her in and raised her as his own. When she went to school, she was sort of the loner of the class, that was until she met Zuko and they just hit it off and that is what began their friendship. When the commander first found out that she was a firebender, he immediately brought her to Iroh to see if he would be willing to train her, luckily he was, so she trained with him for a while. She lost her father when she was 11-12 years old, soon after, she lost her mother to an illness. Zuko and Iroh were the only people there for her after their death.
She was banished when her and Zuko were about 13-14, all because of her relationship with Zuko. His father made her make up a lie as to why she was actually leaving, threatening his own son for if she was to tell him the truth.
After she left, she soon found herself hating the Fire Nation, and took whatever chance she could to help the people that they had hurt, even if that meant killing the army that included people she once knew. Many of those battles included her getting a few new scars.
Soon she became wanted by the Firelord and that's when she finally went into hiding. Before she went into hiding, she had heard about Zuko's banishment, but she never went to find him, knowing that he would probably know about her being wanted and she wasn't sure if he would still have been trustworthy.
She found herself at the Southern Water Tribes, where Hakoda found her and took her in as his own. They decided to keep her once having a relationship with the fire prince and her being a firebender, from Katara on their way back to the village as they both feared the worst.
When Hakoda left, he left her and Sokka to watch out for the family, and that is when her and Katara really build on their relationship, that is what really got Katara her nickname.

Do emotions affect her bending? Yes, not as much as Zuko's does, but yes, when she is extremely mad, the emotions will start to affect her bending and how powerful the fire can be.

Goals: To bring peace between all of the nations, or to end the fire nations cruelty.

Obstacles in front of goal: Not wanting to kill the people she once called friends, or running into Zuko, meaning she might have to kill him.

Secrets: She still has feelings for Zuko

Appearance-

Eyes: A dark amber color

Hair: Blackish-brownish, usually in a braid to keep it out of her face

Scars: She has a few from the fights she has been on.
1) She has one on her left shoulder from a spear of a soldier of the Fire Nation's army.
2) She has one on her eyebrow from a punch in the face she got from a shoulder.
3) She gets a new burn on her shoulder from saving Sokka from Zuko's fire blast at the tribe.

Clothing: In the fire nation, it was traditional fire nation clothing. When she was in the water tribe, she wore traditional water tribe clothing. Once she leaves, she tends to switch it up a bit.

Jewelry: She has a necklace that she hates taking off as it was the last thing she had from Zuko. He had found it for her shortly after her parents died.
