Six

Zara's P.O.V.

I look around as the Freedom Fighters start to surround us. I watch as one goes to ambush Sokka, thinking he is Fire Nation.

"Duke, stop," I say, throwing a fire blast past him

"Zara, you're back?!" Smellerbee asks

"What does it look like?" I ask, holding my arms to the side

"You know these people?!" Sokka screeches

"Aang, Katara, Sokka, meet the Freedom Fighters," I say

I look over at Jet as he comes strolling over.

"I thought I told you to take out all of the fire benders..." Jet says, trailing off when he sees me "Zara?"

"Heya Jet," I say, waving softly

"Let's get back to the huts." He says

"Jet, help Katara up there. I remember how these work." I say

He looks at me and grabs Katara, heading towards the hut.

I grab a rope and pull on it and shoot up to the huts.

"Welcome to my home in the Earth Kingdom," I say

"Wait you lived here?" Aang asks

"Yeah. I was here before the water tribe." I say

"Hawkeye, you're back," Pipsqueak says

"Yeah, it looks like she is." Jet says

Sokka looks at me and I shrug, looking at my old hut.

"If you don't need me, I'm going to go stay in my old hut." I start

"Zara, when you have the time, we need to talk." Jet says

"Yes, sir," I say

Zuko's P.O.V.

I avoid the fire shot from one of the guards as we are training.

"Zuko you're getting distracted again." My uncle says

"You don't think I don't know that?" I say, halting the training

"Would you like to tell your uncle what has been bothering you?" He asks

"Not really. It will only show weakness." I say

He looks at me and shakes his head and he motions for me to sit across from him. I sigh as I follow his instructions reluctantly.

"Now tell me why you can't seem to focus on training." He says, pouring himself a cup of tea

"Because of stupid Zara." I say "I see her just once after three years and I can't get her out of my head."

My hand goes to my pocket, finding her necklace.

"Seeing the disappointment on her face after seeing me hold the Avatar prisoner, I don't know what it is doing to me," I state

"Nothing to do with Ling?" He asks

"Then there's that." I start "Seeing the look of pain and frustration while she looked at Ling and listened to him blame me for everything."
