Eren-Chapter 4

*Time skip to breakfast the next morning*

*Ellie's point of view*

As I sat down in my chair to eat my breakfast with some of my fellow cadets, I looked around the room to see where Jess was. To my surprise she wasn't anywhere to be seen. I turned my head towards Hanji, who was sat next to me, and asked her "Have you seen Jess? "
"No I haven't......but I think I know where she is because the captain isn't here either." She replied with a small smirk on her face. I just looked at her, confused. After a few moments, I realised what she meant and turned my head toward the door. "Jess is not usually late, so Hanji must be right." I told myself. I then saw the door handle turn and in walked Jess and Levi holding hands. Only me and Hanji seemed to notice them.

As they were walking to the table, Jess noticed me staring and let go of the captain's hand. She then sat down in her usual seat (Which was obviously next to Levi) and started giving me unsettling looks, making me very uncomfortable.

After breakfast, everyone left except Levi, Jess and Me. I didn't feel comfortable being in the same room as them when nobody else was there, so I decided to go and look for Armin in the library. As I got up, Jess said "Hey, Ellie wait a sec. . .I need to ask you something." I turned around and looked at her all confused and said "What is it?" She took a deep breath and said boldly,
"What's going on between you and Eren?" I could tell she was agitated. I just looked at her, trying my best not to make eye contact. "What on earth are you on about?" I asked her back, trying to act confused.
...
Silence came upon us. ..

Well. . . Up until the captain stood up and strictly told me "You know what she's on about, so why don't you just go ahead and tell her."
I sighed and looked towards the floor in shame.
