Chapter Sixteen ~ Birthday Party ~

*Elena POV*

 

Walking into Sawyer’s room with a smile on my face. I kiss the top of her head and she wakes up with a big smile. She jumps out of bed and runs into the kitchen. I laugh and I follow her to the kitchen. Right on the table waited her breakfast. We eat together and my phone starts to ring. Smiling at Sawyer I pick up the phone and she sings to herself.

“Hello, Elena.”

“Hey, it’s Luke.” My smile fads and I look down at my plate.

“Hi Luke. Why’d you call?”

“It’s Sawyer’s birthday and I wanted to say Happy Birthday.”  I smile at Sawyer and she looks at me with excitement. “Sawyer you got a special phone call.” I pass her the phone and she presses it to her ear. Once Luke’s voice is heard Sawyer screams and I laugh.

“Daddy! Mommy made me pancakes and she said that today I’m going to have a party. Are you going to come?” Sawyer asks and I look down at my plate knowing that he is going to say no. I mean we haven’t seen each other in six months since that day I left. I haven’t been keeping track of him so I didn’t know what was going on in his life.  “Ok! Love you too Daddy!” Sawyer passes me back the phone and I look at it to see that Luke was still on the line.

“So I’ll be in New York in about four hours. Bye Elena.” I look around my apartment to see that it was a mess.

Tying my hair up I start to clean the whole place. Rose sat on the counter while the girls played in Sawyer’s room. I clean the kitchen while Rose tells me about her new boyfriend. I laugh as she tells me about the guy cumming all over her new shoes.

“It was like a fucking waterfall El.” I laugh and finish the floor. “The worst thing was that those shoes were new. I don’t think that I want to go out with him again.” I laugh and sit next to her. She pours me a glass of wine and I drink out of it.

“We haven’t seen each other in six months Ro. Then he decides to magically show up in two hours?”

“Your point? Listen El, I love you like my own sister but you can be so stupid. You need to see him again Bae.”  I roll my eyes and I take a big gulp out of my cup.  Then the doorbell rings and I start to panic. Jumping off the countertop I shout to Rose to answer the door while I change. Taking my hair out of the stupid bun I run my fingers through my hair and I fix my makeup. Running back into the kitchen I see Luke talking to Rose while Sawyer was in his arms. He looked a bit different. He still had the lip piercing that made me go crazy when we were kissing and he had a snapback on. His blue eyes sparkle as he talks to Sawyer. Then he looks at me. His smile fads and I walk over to him.

Sawyer clings onto my leg and I frost the cake. Rose sits on the counter talking to me while Luke sits next to her listening. I finish frosting the cake and put it into the fridge. I look over at Luke and he looks away from me. Rose jumps off the counter and kisses my cheek. She says that she has to go and I nod my head. Rose and Daisy leave to get ready for the party and I look at Sawyer who was about to pass out. Picking Sawyer up and take her to her room to take a nap. Once she was asleep I walk out to see Luke talking over to phone. I lay down on the couch and cover my face with my hands.

“Love you too baby. Yeah I’ll be back in two days. Alright. Bye. Love you too.” Luke’s voice echoes through the apartment and I feel a stab in my heart as soon as I hear him say that he loves someone else. “Long day El?” Opening one eye I see Luke standing over me. I nod my head and sit up. Luke sits next to me and we both look at the turned off TV.
