" This card is given to you to inform that you are invited to the ball hosted by Silver Fullbuster and his son Gray Fullbuster. It is today from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. You can bring others besides yourself to the party. We look forward to seeing you there and welcoming you and your guests with open arms," Ray finished reading off the invitation. His Daughter, Juvia, set down the cup of tea she was holding and looked in her father's direction. Hadn't Silver told them it would be a get-together party, rather than a ball? And with all those people? Just what exactly does he have in mind?

"It is today, right?", Juvia asked confirming what her father had said.

"Yes it is", Ray replied. " The inviting is up to you. Do you have someone in mind?"

"Yes I do", Juvia replied and started to text a few of her close friends and relatives, a small smile playing on her lips.

"Juvia dear please hurry we will be late", Ray yelled as he checked the time. It was 6:30 right now and if he was correct it would take them around 20-30 minutes to get to their destination.

"Sorry father but it takes time for a woman to dress up", Juvia told her father as she scurried down the stairs.

"Watch your step before you-" Ray was cut off by Juvia's sudden shriek. It was as if he had just jinxed what he said.

Juvia missed a step and was about to fall face forward on the ground before her father had grasped her petite frame and held her steady.

"Sorry father but we have to go now!", Juvia gasped as she looked at the time. She dashed towards the door and was out in seconds.

"Oh dear", Ray said with a sigh. "What to do with her?"

The ball was very grand in size with intricate designs on the walls and a massive chandelier that hung from the ceiling. Below the chandelier was a complicated looking design etched onto the floor. There were tables filled with a variety of different foods and desserts, and just looking at them made Juvia hungry. Many people filled the ball room and Juvia assumed many more were to come.

Juvia looked behind her shoulder only to find one of her beloved cousins, Jellal, heading towards her with his wife; her arm hooked with his.

"Juvia", Jellal called for her and she turned around and greeted the couple with a smile.

"Oh, you guys have arrived just on time", Juvia told them and Jellal let out a sigh.

"If I may ask, why have we been called to such a grand party?", Erza, who was clad almost entirely in black, asked.

"Ah", Juvia said then smiled. "We will find out eventually"

Gray sighed, frustrated with himself. He was holding a glass of fine red wine--he didn't know how many he had already drank. He was a man most capable of holding his alcohol.

Gray decided to take a break and started to look around for familiar faces, but then he immediately regretted his decision.

He saw her.

Mika

Hold up. He was definitely hallucinating. It was probably because of all the alcohol in his system. Gray shook his head and looked at the person again.

Oh, it was just Juvia. She was wearing a strapless ball gown which was black, then turned to a dark blue. It was ruffled at the ends, which made it look super fluffy. It had a silver waistband, which defined her thin hip. She was also wearing a black shrug, which Gray assumed was made out of velvet. Juvia's hair was in a sophisticated looking bun that had 2 loose strands which were curled and settled on her delicate shoulders. She was wearing silver teardrop-shaped earrings with a sapphire gem sitting in the middle of the earring. Her nails were painted a dark blue and silver bracelets decorated her wrists. Last but not least she was wearing silver flats which sparkled when the light reflected off of them.

In Gray's opinion, she looked stunning. Or maybe that was the alcohol talking in his stead. Blame it on the alcohol, he thought.

A tap on the shoulder pulled him out of his head and Gray was greeted by Ray's smiling face.

"Good to see you!", Ray exclaimed and Gray smiled back in response. "You are looking quite handsome if I may say."

"Thank you", Gray replied.

"Just one question", Ray spoke in a hushed tone. "Where can I find your father on such a fine night?"

Before Gray could answer a loud voice boomed and echoed throughout the ballroom, startling many including Gray and Juvia. Everyone's attention was now on the man who's loud voice belonged to.

"Good evening ladies and gentleman", Silver greeted with a warm smile. "I have gathered you all here for only one special occasion. Tonight is a night which I and my fellow friend Ray have been grateful for. Tonight, two hearts will be joined as one. May I kindly ask for Juvia Lockser and Gray Fullbuster, our main focuses for tonight, to please come to the centre of this ballroom and start us off with a slow dance?", Silver asked then whispered "Hit it", and pointed towards the instrument players who started to create a soft tune to dance to.

Hands found their way to the backs of Gray and Juvia and they were eventually pushed to the centre; the atmosphere between them was very awkward. Both of them were very flustered and neither of them knew what to do.

This was all for the sake of his father, or so that's what Gray thought. He took hold of Juvia's thin waist, surprising the young girl and somehow Juvia's hands found their way to Gray's stiff shoulders. They both began to sway with the music, unaware of the snickering their fathers were doing amongst themselves. A good five minutes passed before an idea began to form in Juvia's head.

"Um...", Juvia began to speak and Gray's attention averted from something else to the woman in his arms.

"I want to apologize for my behaviour the other day. I was out of hand and it was really out of my character to be yelling at you. You see, I tend to crack under pressure and the pressure of this marriage was taking a toll on me, therefore, I blamed all of my problems on you. I...I want to clear any misunderstandings between us before we-", Juvia was cut off by something sudden and unexpected.

Something she hadn't been expecting from Gray...
