Dean and Sam- Kidney stones are not for the weak

This was requested by Wolfmoon22 who wanted a chapter where Dean gets a kidney stone and Sam looks after him. Now I don't know anything about kidney stones so if it is not medically correct I do apologise in advance.

After another successful hunt the boys were finally glad to get back to the somewhat clean motel room that they had been renting for the past week.

"Do you want to go find somewhere to eat? I could eat a horse." Dean whipped open the mini fridge before opening a bottle of beer with ease.

"Of course you would be hungry Dean. I did see a burger joint down the block...." dean smacked his lips and smiled.

"You know all that protein isn't good for you Dean. It could lead to all sorts of medical problems. I've been reading about it. With the amount you're drinking and the high protein diet it could lead to..." dean covered Sam's mouth with his hand.

"You talk too much you know that?" Sam sighed before turning back to his laptop.

"Do you want to go for food or not?" Dean reached for his jacket.

"No I'm gonna stay and uh...finish working on this case." Dean shrugged.

"Suit yourself. I'm gonna head to the bathroom before I leave." Sam looked at his brother with worry. If he assumed what was going on with dean for the past few week was correct, Dean was developing a kidney stone. He had noticed all the symptoms. Some nights Dean and him would come back and Dean would be wrapped in so many blankets to disguise his chills and shivering, moments on the hunts where he would complain that he was feeling very weak or tired and he had been going to the bathroom much, much more than normal. As Dean left to get food Sam reached for his phone and contacted Bobby.

"Sam? What's wrong?" He heard the gruff hunters voice.

"Bobby I'm fine. It's Dean. I think he may have a kidney stone..." he heard a sharp intake of breathe across the line.

"Well I'm not surprised considering his diet and his drinking. Takes after his idjit father. Keep and eye on him and if it gets any worse then take him to hospital pronto." Bobby hung up, leaving Sam alone with his thoughts.

Later that night

"You should've seen her Sam, small, blonde, small waist. She would've been nice for you. Totally your type." Sam nodded, not focusing much on what his older brother was saying. His eyes flickered to Dean as he pressed the side of his hips, as if in to ease the pain.

"Are you feeling ok?" He walked over to Dean who was sitting on the bed.

"Yeah I'm fine." He pushed Sam away. But Sam came crawling back to him.

"No Dean you're not fine. I can tell you're not well. I've been watching you for a while. And I think you may have a kidney stone." Dean shrugged him off, a look of pain quickly came to his face before disappearing again.

"You feeling nauseous?" Dean shook his head.

"Dean don't lie to me!" Sam said with such fierceness that Dean looks terrified.

"Ok yes..." He lay back on the best, his body making strange noises.

"Right that's it! We're taking you the hospital right now!" He grabbed deans hand and grabbed the keys to the impala. Before dean could object he doubled over, crumbling to the floor.

"Dean!!" Sam wrapped his arms around his brother, guiding him slowly to the car. He placed him in the front seat before leaping over the bonnet to drive him to the hospital. As they were driving Deans face was becoming increasing pale as he became more and more in pain. As soon as they reached the hospital Sam abandoned the 'pala at the entrance before dragging his brother inside.

"Please help him! Please!" The nurse quickly appeared pulling Sam away from dean before taking dean through to surgery

Later

Sam looked through the hospital room window at his brother who was flirting with one of the nurses. He walked through the door and the smile on Deans face grew. The nurse left the two brothers alone.

"Ok so I guess you were right about the kidney stone huh?" Dean fingered the stitches on his hip.

"You know what this means right? You're really going to have to start taking care of yourself. You promise?" He inched closer to Dean, smiling widely.

"I promise Sammy..."
