21. Chris

* flashback*
1 year ago.
The rain was pouring it down when me, Tony and Jess all came out of the restaurant.
" UGH Chris it's raining." Jess moaned. Tony rolled his eyes and started walking to the car. Just as I was about to join him jess grabbed my arm and pulled me back.
" What now?" I said starting to get annoyed.
" Its raining..." she spoke to me as if I was dumb.
" What exactly do you want me to do about that we don't have an umbrella." I explained.
" Then give me your hoodie." She ordered.
" Jess its just a bit of rain not exactly the end of the world. So stop pestering Chris." Tony yelled. I could tell he was starting to get annoyed as well.

Then before another word could be said someone from our year walked up to us. I knew exactly who it was his name was Luke and he was forever getting into fights and causing trouble. But he was also one of Jess's biggest victims.
" Look what the trash dragged in." Jess said to him. It made my blood boil whenever Jess started acting like this. But I said nothing and instead just stood there like always.
" Not in the mood Jess." He said trying to walk past her but she blocked his way with her arm.
" Did you say something. Wait who am I kidding couldn't have been that important." She said hissing as if she was a snake.
" Just let me past." Luke said.
" And why should I..." halfway through her sentence I interrupted her.
" Jess! That's enough. Now let him past." I said.
" But..." she began.
" He said let the kid past Jess." Tony said. She muttered something to herself before slowly lowering her arm. And Luke walked past without another word.

She then stormed off and walked over to the car and started yanking at the handle.
" Jess its locked. Ive got the keys." I said and she just gave me an evil glare.
" I still don't see why you put up with her if all she dose is yell and force you to do things for her." Tony whispered to me as we slowly made our way to the car.
" You know it's complicated Tony." I said.
" I know I know you've both known each other since you were little blah blah blah. It just seemed as if your dating her for all the wrong reasons thats all." Then once we reached the car and unlocked it Jess slammed the passenger door shut. Then Tony was left to sit in the back and I drove.

And that should have been the end of the night. But it wasn't. Jess then made us all go to this party that neither me or Tony really wanted to go to, but of course when we tried to tell her that she just screamed at both of us. So eventually we ended up going to the party. When we drove up to the house Jess happily hopped out the car and walked over to her friends while me and Tony tried to stop our ears from hurting after all of Jess's screaming.

Then the night got crazier and crazier. Fights broke out, things got broken and the police even showed up. So when that party was finally shut down me and Tony went to go find Jess who had ditched us as usual. Then when we finally found her it was clear she had had a few too many drinks. So we practically had to carry her to the car because she could barely walk in a straight line. Then we finally got her in the backseat which wasn't easy. Then a few minutes later while we were driving back Jess was completely passed out in the backseat.

" Why do you put up with her Chris? Its clear your not in love with her." Tony said.
" What do you mean by that?" I asked.
" Come on Chris we all know your grade aren't actually as bad as they are, you only do it on purpose to please her. She treats you as if your nothing but her little puppet that she can control and manipulate when ever she wants. Stop lying to your self and trying to convince your self that she's the one because she's not." Then there was silence for a few minutes. The Jess suddenly woke up and forced us to pull over.

* present day*

Alarms suddenly started going off and a bunch of nurses suddenly rushed into Amy's mums room. I could see the fear in Amy's eyes slowly building so I quickly pulled her into a hug one to give her my shoulder in case she needed to cry and also because it might help if she didn't see what was about t happen. I could feel her trembling with fear as she started to wrap her arms tighter and tighter around me. It was horrible to see Amy this scared. It broke my heart 💔 .
