As soon as I told Amy I wanted to be deaf again I saw her relax for a minute before looking at me in confusion.
" let me explain. Look there's only one thing in the world that I want to hear and thats your voice." Amy immediately began blushing and started to look away but I placed my fingers under her chin and turned her face to face me.
" But then why choose to be death. What about your family." She said almost as if she didn't want me to do it. As if scared that I would regret it.
" My family are always busy and we don't really see each other much. Plus all that happens when I get my hearing back is a new problem waiting to happen, a new change they now have to deal with. Besides this way you'll forever be special to me." Her eyes began to fill with tears. As one started to roll down her cheek I quickly wiped it away with my thumb.
" Are you sure this is what you want?" She said.
" Yes I'm sure. Look I get what I'm saying is crazy and that most people in my position would give anything to hear again but I just guess I'm not like them. Your all I care about Amy and thats why I was wondering if you wanted to be my girlfriend." Then the biggest smile spread across her face and she brought me into a big hug then she whispered in my ear " Of course I'll be your girlfriend."

I couldn't believe that I had found such an amazing and special girl as Amy. And now she was officially my girlfriend. We spent the rest of the day together. Then we went down to the. Beach and sat on the edge of the rocks. I wrapped my arm around Amy whilst she rested her head peacefully on my shoulder.
" So how do you plan on becoming deaf again?" She asked.
" Well when they did the operation they put a piece of technology to help me hear again where they did the operation. Its hooked up to this remote and I can turn it off and on whenever I want." I took the remote out of my pocket and showed it to Amy. " Then if I switch it off and don't turn it back on for a while then it will eventually just shut itself down and will only work again if I have another operation."
" So then what are you going to tell your parents and your sister?" She asked.
" I'll just tell them that it stopped working and that I don't want them to do anything about it and that I'm happy with my life just the way it is." I explained.
" But what if you turn it off and you cant hear my voice anymore?" She asked sounding worried and uncertain.
" Well I guess there's only one way to find out." I then held out the remote so that Amy could see what I was doing and I pushed the off button. Then slowly the sound of the seagulls squawking began to fade and the sound of the waves faded away. I looked at Amy who had sat up slightly and was looking at me nervously.
" So. Can you still hear me?" She said nervously. I held her hand in mine and smiled at her.
" Your voice just gets more and more beautiful every time I hear it." Amy then smiled and kissed me before placing her head back on my shoulder.

We spent the rest of the day sat there talking and looking out at the sea. Everything seemed so peaceful just the way I liked it. I looked over at Amy who had fallen asleep on my shoulder. She looked so peaceful just laying there sound asleep. Then it started to get dark but I didn't have the heart to wake her up. So I carefully picked her up and carried her in my arms. Her head resting on my chest and her hair gently blowing in the breeze.

She woke up for a few seconds before falling back to sleep in my arms. I couldn't believe how much she trusted me but I loved carrying her in my arms. She was so calm and peaceful. Then when we finally made it back to her house I opened the gate slightly and squeezed through. Amy still in my arms fast asleep and I couldn't blame her after I had accidentally woken her up at 4am. But the fact that even at 4am she would still pick up the phone for me made me happy.

Once we reached the front door I still didn't have the heart to wake her up. I saw Luke at the window and he unlocked the door and let me in. He saw Amy asleep in my arms and smiled. I then carried her upstairs to her room and gently laid her down in her bed before pulling the covers over her to keep her warm. She moved slightly and I thought I'd woken her up but she stayed asleep. I left a note for her on her bedside table for her to read when she woke up.

I quietly closed the door behind me before making my way back down the stairs. Luke was stood by the door and looked at me approvingly. I smiled and he mouthed the words thank you. I knew he mouthed them because I had texted him earlier and explained what I had done, also it was quite clear what he was saying and that he didn't want to wake anyone else up.

I walked out of the house and started making my way home. I closed the gate behind me and looked up to Amy's bedroom window. I smiled to myself before turning around and continuing making my way home. Once I was back all the lights were off and it had started to rain. My mind immediately thought of Amy running in the rain when we were trapped inside her house. I unlocked the door and closed it behind me and I relocked it.

As soon as I was in my room I suddenly felt exhausted. I got ready and as soon as my head hit the pillow I immediately fell asleep.
