Colin's POV
I text Becca as soon as I'm in my car.
I want everything done asap. So I can do the proposal by tomorrow night.
Being the night owl she is, she replies right away.
Yay! It's gnna be hard not to say anything to Leah and V bt ill keep my mouth shut. Phase 1 is already in progress!
I laugh and pull out of the parking lot of the chapel, feeling like a teenage boy before prom.
Vera's POV
"Leah?" I call to Leah from my bed. I left Colin's last night after I saw he wouldn't be getting back any time soon.
"Yeah girl?"
"Is Colin here yet?"
"No, he isn't. Is he supposed to be?"
I'm hurt. It's been hours and he still hasn't come back from wherever he went. Images of Lauren and Trish dance around in my mind, but I shake them away. He wouldn't do that. Or at least, I hope he wouldn't.
"Well, he might be coming. Just let me know if he does."
"Okay girl, gotcha."
"Okay, thanks Leah!" I sink back into bed and under my blankets. Is it possible to feel this sick for so long? I make a mental note to possibly go into the ER tonight. A distant knocking comes from the front door. It opens and closes, and I feel tingles spread throughout my body. Colin. We had been "together" for several months, and I still felt like the vulnerable girl whom he cornered in the locker room before that charity dinner whenever he came around. Giggling I pull the sheets up over my face, waiting for him to come in.
"Baby girl?" I hear my door open and close.
"Vera isn't here," I say grumpily, suddenly remembering how he had left for hours without telling me where. I feel the blanket being pulled from over my head. Colin eases on top of me.
"Get off," I whine, trying to shove his 6 foot 4 body off me. Colin doesn't budge at my failing attempts, he just grips me tighter.
"Baby.."
"You ditched me. Where the hell did you go?"
"I went to the chapel to pray."
I sit up. That's totally unexpected.
"I didn't know you're a spiritual person."
"I used to be, and I wanna be again. It's what's been helping me stay clean."
"Prayer does help relieve stress, doesn't it?" I feel better knowing Colin had gone to the chapel instead of some club. The sincerity in his voice tells me he isn't lying.
"It does. You help to relieve a lot of my stress too."
Colin presses his lips against mine, in a deep and meaningful kiss. It isn't filled with lust, he doesn't force his tongue through to mine, it's just a soft simple kiss. It sends tingles to my toes. After he pulls away he puts his forehead to mine, caressing my cheek with his hand. His eyes are closed.
"Are you okay?"
"Yes baby girl. I'm fine. Are you free tonight?"
"I don't know, I'll see if I can pencil you in somewhere," I joke. Colin lays flat on my body so all of his weight is directly on top of me. "ljaasjhoweihglaskjd!" I yell, trying to protest under his weight.
"Tell me you're free tonight, and I'll get off of you," he says, I can practically hear him smiling.
"Ok Ok!" I manage to yell out. Colin rolls off of me and onto the floor. Leah comes into the room with a questioning look on her face.
"All I hear up in here is yelling and screaming," She raises an eyebrow, "Ya'll are some nasty ass freaks," she shakes her head and closes the door behind her. Colin and I laugh hysterically.
"So, what's going on tonight?" I ask, after we both catch our breath. Colin sits up on the ground.
"We're going to a carnival. It's a night carnival, same place we went the first time."
I nod my head. "Wow, a night carnival? That sounds like fun! I've never heard of it. Do you think Colindra would want to join us?" I smirk. Colin purses his lips and gets on all fours, grinding and twerking at the same time.
"Yasssss girl, Colindra finna join usssss," he gets up and backs up into me, twerking on my lap. I bust out laughing as he pops his butt in my face. He turns around to face me and starts dry humping me on the bed. I am nearly in tears now and the door opens again. I look around Colin, who doesn't stop what he's doing, and see Leah spooning some ice cream into her mouth. She takes one look at Colin, then to me, and starts bursting out in laughter. Colin falls onto me and we're all in tears, filling the apartment with laughter.
