The Aftermath: Part 4 (P.O.V of Thea)

I saw the cutest Disney diary a few days back when I was here. But back then, I had no cash on me, so I couldn't buy it. So today, when I saw the Disney shop at Times Square from a distance, I wanted to just go ahead and buy it already. So I kind of dragged Ayman into the store. When I went to look for the diary, it was not there. I went ahead to go ask someone who worked at the store, only to find out that Amani worked there too. While she took us to the new location of the diaries, we discuss about last night, but I can notice a distressing undertone in her voice. I wonder what changed in a day, because she seemed cheerful yesterday.

As I was about to pay for it, I realised that I had no money on me, again.

'Shit, I forgot to bring money again. Umm Ayman, can I ask for a favour from you?'

'Oh god, don't tell me you are going to make me pay for it', he says.

'I know you hate it when I act all childish, but you how much I love Disney, man. And this is like one of the cutest diaries ever. Please! Please! Please! I will pay you back once we go back to my apartment. Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee!!'

'Oh fuck off, no' Ayman says

'Hey come on, you owe me a favour for saving you from the clutches of Rashy that one time'

'THAT WAS IN SEVENTH GRADE! IT'S BEEN 8 YEARS!'

'Oh come on, pleeeaaaassseee?'

'Ugh fine, I'll pay for it. But I want my money back first thing when we get back to your place'

I was overwhelmed with joy after that diary finally belonged to me.

Ayman is like a bottomless pit. No matter how much you feed him he is still gonna be hungry. After roaming around in Times Square for a while, he decides to go to Brindle Room- apparently the best burger joint in New York. As we are waiting for our food to come, we are joined by unexpected visitors. Rehma and Safwan enter, holding hands and acting all affectionate towards each other. Before I can think of anything, I quickly drag down Ayman with me and we hide under the table.

Ayman is taken aback by surprise and says, 'What are you doing???'. I tell him to 'shhh' and point towards the direction of the couple. Widened eyes, and with a half-open mouth, Ayman actually becomes speechless to say anything. It takes some time but I finally realize what was happening......

*FLASHBACK*

I was going to the washroom to fix my makeup when I see Rehma come out of the washroom. We begin a conversation about how crazy our lives have been in these years, when I see a guy exit the girls bathroom too. The guy was super skinny but I could not understand who it was from the behind. I saw him and said to Rehma, 'Hmm, so people are nailing people in this bar! Interesting!'. Rehma glances on the guy for a bit and then proceeds on to say 'Haha.....haha I guess ya it is interesting'.Then she suddenly goes back to table without finishing the conversation, leaving me behind in confusion.

*Cut back to present*

'I guess now you finally understand why she was so nervous- because SHE was the one who got nailed!', Ayman said.

Our food arrives right then and the waiter, not being able to find us on our table, leaves the food and go away. Rehma and Safwan choose a table a bit inside the restaurant, which works out as an advantage for us. So as they were sitting down, we quickly got up, grabbed our burgers, and exited the place. I don't think they would like knowing that two of their friends know about their 'secret affair'.
